My Collage Days: DBIT

Collage has improved in all aspects over the years however extracurricular needs to be looked at placement options needs to be improved further. There were too many unnecessary restrictions imposed those needs to be relooked at.

I wrote CET and was ranked in few thousands.

Course was guided by VTU

VTU does not promote Internship. However we were to conduct projects outside the collage. My project with one of the startup online service providers. We created and were testing a prototype that will act as a information kiosk in all corners of karnataka .

Placement activity was great. We had a total of 9 companies participating in the process.About 55% of students were placed with organizations. Highest paid job offered was about 12,000 USD per year We had peripheral placements where organizations came and picked students for non-specialization jobs like HR and Admin and legal .

We had the first collage fest

Fee was bit high compared to other collages in the country. This was because of the quota system prevailing in India. Because I was not from the state of study I had to pay a premium otherwise for local state people the fee is very nominal .

Scholarship or loan was not provided by the management of the collage. Students had to arrange for financial support from local or state banks if required .

We had equal number of male a female students enrolled except for in Civil. In Civil unfortunately we had 1 female against 48 male students. We organized for the first collage cultural fest. It was spread over 2 days and was a grand success. We had students from all collages in Bangalore participating. Workshops were conducted for respective specializations by industry eminent individuals.

Hostel was very good. We had attach bathroom and was on a twin sharing basis. The hostel was of 5 floors with 8 rooms in each floor.We had the cafeteria on the ground floor. It was also the TV room. We had dinner together apart from snacks after collage e

My batch was the first batch hence I never had seniors or alumni .

Exams were governed and guided by policies placed by VTU . It used to be hectic because we had consecutive exams every day of the week . We had to study overnight and then appear for the exam next morning.

Faculty consisted of all eminent professors from Vellore University, R.V Collage with several years of teaching experience under their beltMath professor Rajappa was one of the best followed by Civil professor Rakesh Sharma and his wife Malathi Sharma tea
