Eligibility - Only those students who have passed their class 12th or any equivalent qualifying exam in the previous 2 years than the current year are eligible for the JEE mains and same for the JAC Chandigarh, Merit list is prepared based on JEE Main score card only. Admission to UIET is done through a separate counseling process named JAC Chandigarh. All the details are available on that website only. There is no reservation based on the region in UIET, although it has reservations based on caste, sports quota defense quota, PMSSS, etc.

To be very honest, I have chosen this course in UIET because it is the best and note my word AFFORDABLE choice at my JEE rank. UIET is a govt college that is a department under Panjab University, Chandigarh. Faculty to student ratio is 1:30 Faculties are very qualified, yes there are only a few faculty who had passed from IITs, but there are more Panjab university graduates faculty. The teaching method is good If you are in a core branch-like EEE or ECE, then you have to study a lot if you also wana spare time for coding and other activities.

after the 7th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. There is a rise in placement in online mode during COVID compared to offline. Recruiters for session 2022 on campus:- Amazon - 17 offers of 41lpa ( because of this avg package reached 9.52lpa) American eExpress 09 zscaler, Samsung- 50 students, Philips, Schneider electric, Optum, ZS, L&t, Deloitte- 54 students placed, Isuzu, Mahindra, Hitachi , tata power, jio, by us, Infosys , cognizant , KPMG, Paytm , IndiaMART , policy Bazar, NPCI and few more while off-campus:- GOOGLE, WALMART, CRED, FLIPKART, ATLASSIAN Total oofferswere 445 highest package - 45lpa Avg - 9.52lpa offers above 12lpa - 120 no of recruiters - 70 these are out of 508 students

Tuition fees per year - Approx 99k Examination fees per semester - 2575 Hostel fees are very nominal and its 5000/per semester mess charges - rs 40 per diet If you are financially weak , then the university gives you a scholarship irrespective of your merit

Library - The library in UIET is more than enough, I would say it has sufficient books for every course. Amenities in classrooms- Here, you have to compromise because the classroom of UIET does not have a projector, AC, speaker set up anything, Old method of teaching with chalk and green board is going on sports and extra curricular- Sports facility in UIET which is a south campus of Panjab University is somewhat zero. UIET only has a basketball court and a multipurpose ground. Although The orth campus ( where the main university is located) do have the best sports facility in India and students of UIET can avail of them easily but you have to travel for it There are various groups and clubs in UIET like sporcommitteette, JUGAAD( robotics club), EDC, Comic tribe, STAR( Alumni club), TPC ( training and placement cell), OSMIUM(theatre club), dance club, EUPHORIA ( singing club), etc

Hostels - If you are an outsider, then you may have to suffer for hostels because there is a shortage of hostels and there is no dedicated hostel for UIET. There are 8 boys hostels and 10 girls hostels at the Panjab University, so students of quiet are allowed in any of these hostels. It is very bad here that hostels are also allowed according to JEE rank and also have a reservation for obc, sc, st, etc and only very very few students can get the hostels. Like if give you an idea only 15 boys out of 80 in ECE get a hostel in the first round. Rest students are allowed with their waiting list numbers. and only 2 or 3 waiting are cleared every year. Meal quality is ok. There are a few sectors and pg near UIET like the Maharana Pratap hostel. if you want to take a flat then sectors 24C, 38, 37, 23D, and 15 arethe closest
