Remarks
I applied to NITs but couldn't get a set in Computer Science hence didn't attend. The admission was based upon JEE-MAIN rank, the minimum mark for the CS branch was 40 in JEE-MAIN. The admission process was quite systematic, there were 4 counseling rounds, and students were being shortlisted based on their JEE-MAIN rank.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had a knack for solving technical problems related to computers and other electronic devices hence I chose this branch. The faculty-student ratio is 1:60. All the professors and associate professors are Ph.D. and assistant professors who hold a master's degree in the computer science domain. There are term exams every 4 months and they are of medium-level difficulty.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester. A lot of big companies like TCS, Infosys, Impetus, and Decode visit each year and provide thousands of offers. The highest package is 10 LPA and the average package is 4.5 LPA. 75 percent of the students get placed. I have also got placed in a decent company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike is approximately 10 percent per annum. The current annual fee for my course is Rs. 1,10,000. The duration of the course is 4 years and hence the total fee is around 4,40,000 plus 10,000 caution money.
Campus Life
There is an annual fest called Moonstone. Moonstone is conducted in March every year. A lot of books and journals are available in the library that is sufficient to cover the syllabus taught. Non- AC classrooms having no smartboard, follow the traditional method of teaching. Sports and extracurricular are too less. There is an eco-club, Sahitya-club, etc. for various extracurricular activities run by students.
