All about NISER

We have to give a national entrance screening test (NEST), conducted in CBT mode, through this exam applicants can also apply for CEBS, we have to clear cut off of PCMB subjects and the best of 3 marks will be considered for the final rank to get a seat in NISER. The cut-off is usually AIR 400 Rank for the general category.

After corona, there is a special focus on research throughout the world so it is a good course to opt for, along with faculties we have Ph.D. students as TAs, which usually took our tutorial once a week, and most of our professors are highly qualified (AIR 1, 2,7... In GATE) as they are researchers mainly, in one year 2 semesters are there, and in each semester Mid-semester and end semester exams are held with some quizzes, for some subjects it's hard to score

For internships, we usually apply in IISER and IISc under our desired professor, but sometimes people also apply outside the country, mostly in an internship we work under the professors which help us to gain further knowledge on that topic through wet labs.

We can get a job in BARC only by a job interview, and people can join ISRO and DRDO, but most of the Niserites focus on Ph.D. after their course as most of them want to pursue research as their main goal, otherwise, they can also join industrial jobs.

Yearly fees along with hostel are 9400Rs whereas we got DISHA scholarship of 60,000 per year if our score is above 6.5 CGPA, there is a direct tie-up with BARC, so we only have to give an interview for scientific officer jobs.

Umang is our annual fest which is usually conducted in mid-Feb, campus life is very nice, every year we have prom parties, IISM is held between IISER and NISER it's a sports competition, most every kind of book is available in the offline library and if not then we have an online library, there are many social groups run by students like Zakariya, etc., central ACs are available in classes.

We usually don't have any hostel fees, total fees including hostel fees are 9400Rs, we don't have a mess, instead of the mess we have 4 canteens running right now, we can eat from anywhere we want, we need to pay before having our meals, and the cost is affordable like chicken curry for 33Rs but sometimes food quality is not good, but to check all these things we have Gymkhana and HEC.
