Remarks
There is no entrance exam for the admission. After a brief councelling session you are good to go. You are eligible for the course if you have studied biology in class 12th. There are no interview or group discussion rounds for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
Joining this course seemed the best option then because I wanted to be a researcher. The faculty members are highly qualified and supportive but some lack professionalism. The teaching strategies are moderate. The batch size varies from 10 to 20. Talking about the exams, the schedule always remain fixed with two mid sems and 1 end term exam at the end of each semester. The exams are easy to pass and good marks can be scored with punctuality and regularity. All the mark are considered while preparing the student mark sheet. 75% attendence is mandatory.
Internships Opportunities
The Training and Placement cell and IAESTE organization provide many international and national internship and job opportunities to the students. Many big and small companies, MNCs like Microsoft, Amazon, Google etc offer jobs to students. But the job opportunities for a microbiology major are less to none.
Placement Experience
I have pretty much answered this question above. If i discuss the scenario where no campus placement is offered, then I would probably search for jobs and internships on online platforms like LinkedIn, Internshala, Indeed, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
A scholarship of 30% is awarded to students who have s scored more than 75 % marks in the class 12th examination. The scholarship is applicable on tution fee only. The transportation charges, hostel charges and additional charges are not included in the scholarship.
Campus Life
The college hosts many fests and events of sports, technology, and music during the year, Rhythm being the most anticipated. The college also organizes blood donation drives, awareness programs, and seminars among many other events, and supports social causes. There are many clubs like fashion club, photography club, cultural club, Terra club, etc. These clubs provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills. The infrastructure is good but classes are not air-conditioned. Though the entire college has a vast network of ducting vents they had never been switched on. All the classes are monitored by CCTV.
