Remarks

College management was good during the period of Mr.K K Ohri who was very strict director but managed the staff & students very well. College has achieved great heights during his tenure and since he was from defense background, helped him to create the discipline in the campus. Infrastructure was good but management needs to focus more on experienced and knowledgeable staff team having good industry experience as well.

Entrance Preview

UPSEAT - Rank 7809 Electronics & Communication stream was considered to be ever green stream which has diversified applications as well as maximum jobs availability compared to other streams. Moreover I was not much interested in Computers and languages. The admission interview and GD process was simple and robust at that time and since it was a new facility at that time, so the seats were given on first come basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

In 2001, they had 4 streams of Engineering, i.e EC, EI, CS & IT. These were the main streams at that time and students were mostly pursuing these main streams only. The staff was good and supportive with good infrastructure for research and development within the college premises.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, college provided internship in collaboration with many external companies and agencies. I was offered internship with Tata Telecom, Pune which was organised by our college only and received the stipend of 7500/month for 6 weeks training at Pune.

Placement Experience

2.5

Since our batch was second batch to pass out from the college, therefore companies arranged by management for placement of students was not sufficient. However few companies made some in-campus hiring also and college management arranged for off-campus placement exercise at other places as well. But since it was a new college, it was expected. At our time, we had HCL infosystems, Bharti Airtel, etc which did some campus placements from college campus.

College Events

3

We had a freshers party every year which was being organised by 2nd year students for 1st year students. Also annual fests were being organised from 2004 onwards in which many cultural, technical events and contests were being played & participated by inter-college students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In 2001, we had to pay the annual fees of Rs.22k only which was as per the UPTU norms only. We had to pay some annual charges for 1st year only and tuition fees for the further years and no additional expense was asked from the college management at that time, which was the positive point about the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship provided for students getting 75% or above marks. The students getting higher percentage marks gets the financial benefits from college

Campus Life

4.5

It was the only college in near vicinity amongst 32 engineering colleges, which had maximum number of foreign students at that time, coming from Vietnam, Nigeria, Uganda and other African & Asian countries. The gender ratio was 75:25 but having a very diversified gentry coming from all part of the state and even outside.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Never availed the hostel facilities in particular. But had availed the mess facilities sometimes, which were not that good and needed improvement. the mess food vendor used to change every year on getting the complaints from the students. Infrastructure was good but food vendor was not so good

Alumni/Alumna

This college has started in 2000 only and therefore we had only 1 batch pass-out before us. So we received the benefit of senior students alumni along with the additional benefit of getting experience from staff and seniors. Our batch was the second batch to pass-out from the company and the alumni network has grown manifolds since last 12 years.

Exam Structure

The exam structure for internals/session exam was quite hactic as we have to write 2 exams per day in 2 different time slots of the day and all 6 subject exams was completed in 3 days time only. So the time given for preparation was not proper and therefore the results were also effected accordingly.

Admission

Through my UPSEAT exam result along with the Interview and GD. Also the admission process in 2001 was quite simple as it was a new college with first batch in 2000, so it was quite easy getting the admission and that too without paying any additional fees. The registrar took the interview and finalized the admission

Faculty

3

The faculty was good and supportive, with respect to the subject knowledge. Staff was somehow insufficient for certain subjects which were being started for the first time like workshop training, Microwave engg, etc and initial duration of course was therefore a bit difficult going through. Few staff members were very good and made best of their efforts to inculcate the knowledge base within the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
