Right now by qualifying JEE mains by scoring around 100-110 marks you can get easily get admission in OIST Bhopal, back in 2013 when i joined this college i had to clear PET ( MP level technical exam). I scored 103 marks in PET and opted for Information Technology because i always had a thing for computers, also Computer science was already full. The admission procedure is simple, after jee mains results are out, you have to actually visit the college itself as soon as possible because seats in branches like CS,ME,CE,EC fills very fast.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for Information technology is easy, because if you are a technology lover like me then you will already know half of the things they are teaching there. In other courses like ME,CE,EX,EC,AU some subjects are easy and some are tough, its simple if you pay attention. CS and IT have almost 90% of the same curriculum. ME,AU,CE have some common subjects as well. And the 1st year subjects are common in all branches. As regarding research, the college provides you full support, the faculties will guide you, you can stay in computer lab all day and work on your research project. Your branch department helps you in all the way possible, you just have to ask. Each department also keeps arranging expert lectures, alumni meets, educational visits.
Internships Opportunities
No, OIST Bhopal does not provide any internships as for now. You can try applying for internships yourself if you want to and the college will take care of your attendance/sessional.
Placement Experience
The average package in OIST of this year was 3.6 lakhs per annum. Some students bagged packages worth 6 lakhs also, it all depends on the student ability. In 2014 one of my senior in CE bagged 11 lakhs job in tech mahindra. Currently CS/IT bags most of the job offers because companies like TCS, capgemini looks for software developers. There is not much placements for CE,ME,AU right now, most of the students ended up looking for post graduation courses.

The OIST Bhopal is known for its campus placements and extra curricular activities. The college organizes a 3 day techno-cultural festival including sports tournaments every year. Participants come from all over the nation in sports tournaments and rock band competitions.

The extra curricular competitions only occur during the time of fest with attractive cash prizes, inviting many young talents from all over the country. And also this college do not promote any college level politics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel and mess are awful, i do not recommend you to stay in college hostel ever. Although you get wifi in hostel which works only after college hours and most of the content is locked. My ratings according to my 1 year stay- Food- 2.5/5 Cleanliness in mess, hostel washrooms- 4/5 Also your entry is restricted after 9 pm, you cannot leave the college premises during college hours untill you have permission from your HOD, and you cannot leave hostel after 9.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes they are very helpful, the college keep arranging alumni meet ups so that they can guide their juniors.
Exam Structure
Semester exams are conducted at the end of semester and the rest of the semester has mid-semesters, class tests ( depends on the faculty). Each semester has two mid- semesters, covering half-half syllabus. During main semester exams, the first thing is your Pre University test, followed by lab internals, you will have lab externals just after few days of PUT and after 7-10 days, main semester exam happens. Everything happens back to back in a duration of 30-40 days. It's only hectic during the main semester examination period, rest of the semester is very chilled out.
Admission
Well back in 2013 after clearing PET i visited the college campus in bhopal, the admission procedure is simple and during the time of admission the college management tries there best to help students by providing as many as counselors as possible. You have to meet the people in admission department and reach there as soon as possible. 10th and 12th marksheets, with character certificate, TC from school and atleast 8-10 passport size photographs will be required. (Also carry xerox copies of every documnet with you) You visit the college campus yourself with all of the above mentioned documents and contact the admission council. The admission department will check all of your documents thoroughly and according to your marks in 10th and 12th and also in jee mains they will inform you about the courses you are eligible for. Once you get the desired course you will be notified about the fees required and you will have to pay atleast 50% of the semester fees upfront, that will reserve your seat and then you can pay your remaining fees later in the duration of your semester. The college campus itself has a bank where you can pay your fees through cash/check/demand draft etc after your payment the admission department will give you a quick orientation of the college itself.
Faculty
The faculty is well educated and well aware of the present technology. The reason is that the college management hires dozens of new faculty every year. The faculties are very friendly and they help you with everything be it regarding your research or be it your some personal project or even its some of your private matter. You can always ask them about your future plans, you can ask them for extra lectures, you can ask them for any way to learn new skills. Some faculties even help you in your project and research.
