
Remarks
It is the third best college in karnataka, so you have to be very good to get seat in the college. One bad remark is that college doesn't have College bus for students.
Entrance Preview
I had taken common entrance test aka CET, which is entrance examination in karnataka. Based on your score in CET along with your marks in your +2, you'll be given a rank. I had got a rank of 690 in CET and I selected BMS College for my engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are total of 8 semesters. First and second semester will be common across all branches. From 2nd year we will be studying our core subjects, in my case it was Electronics and communication. 3rd and 4th semester will start with some basic level courses like Analog Electronics and digital Electronics. From 3rd year we are allowed to select our electives. There are wide range of electives from which you can choose. I had taken C++, embedded systems, low power Vlsi and automotive electronics as my elective in my 3rd year. In 7 th semester we are required to do a mini project in a group with up to 4 students. In 8th semester we are required to do our major project.
Placement Experience
In our campus for 2014 batch, close to 80 companies came for placements. In our College each student is allowed to take two offers. One offer could be above 5 lacs and one below 5lac package or both offers of below 5lacs. Average package in our college is around 4.5 lacs package. Few companies with highest packages are LINKEDIN WITH 17Lac,net app with 12 Lacs, SanDisk with 12.5lacs. Many mass recruitment companies also came. TCS, cognizant, IBM, Bosch, Tech mahindra are some of them. I got placed in TCS and Schneider-electric. The package in Schneider was 4.8lacs and it was 3.6lacs in TCS.
College Events
There are many events celebrated in campus through out the year. UTSAV is the BMS College fest, it has the accolade of being the best fest in India. The fest lasts over 3 days with interesting activities throughout. There are also department fest which happens one a year. The are different cultural clubs like dance, singing, fashion, mad ads, musical, drama etc. There is a separate sports department with cricket club, football club, badminton clubs etc. Technical fests are organised very frequently, few of the technical clubs are IEEE, Melton foundation etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since BMS is a aided college, the fees is reasonable when compared to other college if the admission is through CET. The management seat fees is not fixed and it changes every year. In totality, the fees in BMS College is pretty reasonable.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarship in college. If you are SC/ST you are given 50% fees discount. You can get MHRD scholarship.
Campus Life
There are many labs for each department. For Electronics and communication we have a analog lab, digital lab, vlsi lab, computer communication lab. Many company funded labs are also there for example NXP lab, mentor graphics robotics lab etc. Gender ratio in college is very good. There are many cultural Committees in campus.we have a dance club, music club, drama club, mad ads, kannada club to name few.
Hostel Facilities
I am a day scholar, So I don't have much experience of hostel. But from the views of my friends I can tell that hostels are very good. There is a separate in campus hostel for both girls and boys. The average PG rentals will be around 10 thousand for 4peo
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network and communication is very strong. There is a dedicated website for alumnis to connect.
Exam Structure
There are total of 8 semesters. The score will be in terms of GPA out of 10.
Faculty
All the Faculties in Electronics and communication branch are PhD holders. The knowledge base of the professor's are exceptional, both in theory and practicals. Many of our professor's have good relationship with industries, so one could except many compl
