Best government institute

Many things are good in vgec. First of all this government college has very good infrastructure with very good facilities and faculty.

I did diploma in computer engineering than based on my diploma score I got admission into 2nd year of bachelor of engineering at vgec. I was in top 30 in diploma.

Course curriculum is based on standard gtu (gujarat technology university). Gtu has taken all year exams and it is semester based system. There was 6 month industrial training in last year. The course content is pretty much updated and as per new trend in IT industry. I learned java , .net and PHP as well as basic language and microprocessor programming.

My college is providing internship to master's student. We have master program for Electronics subjects. Stipend is standard gtu process. It is around 8k to 14k.

Placement is very good. There is 4-5 companies coming for campus for each branch every year. I got job from on campus placement in India largest IT company. Army and Navy placement is also coming in placement every year. Average package in placement is ctc 3L. On very first day of placement season Tcs, Infosys are coming for all branches. They select around 100 student for job with average ctc of 3.4L. Some local Ahmedabad companies also come like tatvasoft , e infochips etc. For mechanical and electrical department torrent and gsfc is coming for placement with package around 3.5L.

Many culture,sport and technical events organised in even semester. Whereas in odd semester festival specific events are organised. Technical event is organised for 3-4 days long. Music bands and fashion shows are on last day of this event and In culture event dance , fashion show , rangoli are organised.

Fee structure is government standard because vgec is a government engineering college. College tuitions and hostel fees are very feasible and affordable for every economic level student. Fees for college is 2500 -3000 per year and hostel fee is around 3000 per year.

Scholarship is available for SC ,ST and OBC class student from government. Scholarship is available for scholar student based on there economic background.

Campus life is very exciting at vgec Chandkheda. College campus has sport arena which consists of badminton indoor court, basketball court,football ground, volleyball court and area for other indoor games with all standard equipment. Though its a engineering college there is good gender ratio in all branches. College is located in Gujarat so most of the students are Gujarati but many students from outside state are studying master's in campus. IIT Gandhinagar is also in campus so culture diversity is seen in campus.

Hostel is constructed in 2012. It is best in class with very good facilities. There is separate hostel for boys and girls. Still hostel capacity is limited so all students is not getting admission. Both hostel has mess which provide very good food. Common room ,table tennis table, basketball court is available near hostel.

Alumni group and alumni connect event is organised every yeat in campus. On first day of college senior students organised college connect and facilitation session for fresher.

Exam structure is standard gtu based. We had internal exams in every semester too. Bachelor of engineering is 4 year program consists of 8 semester with last one is industrial training. Odd semester is from july to december and Even semester is from February to may.

Based on our diploma last year percentage gtu board had made merit list. Top 300 were called for college selection at gtu ofc.There were only 10% seats for diploma to degree student in graduation colleges so total 400 around seats were available. I got very limited options to choose grad college but at last I choose vgec Chandkheda. Its a one of the best engineering college in Gujarat state.

Faculties are excellent. All has some industrial experience. Most of the faculty are very much experienced in their field. Most of the faculties are masters and some are doctorate too. Our head of department was doctorate and well known author of many technological books.
