Entrance Preview
CET (11695) this college was referred by my dads BIL. Hence took this college for my Bachelor of Engineering admission during the year 2005.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum of the college is as per Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) guidelines. We had the common subject under 2 cycles (Physics and Chemistry) during the 1st year and followed by regular subjects for next 3 years. There was mini project during 3rd year and final project during 4th and final year of the course.
Internships Opportunities
NO, the college did not provide any internships during the course of the education at PDIT. Also, there was very less option for the internship in the college under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) guide lines.
Placement Experience
College had a formal placement cell but the placement was not so great. There were less/NO placements happening in the college and students had to explore through other colleges. many times students informed placement cells of campus recruitment and post which we used to get chance to write in campus recruitment process.
College Events
There are yearly cultural events happening in the college where the whole college take part. Prior to this there will many competitions in the college which covers all areas of sports and extracurricular. Parikrama is the name of teh yearly annual meet in the college. Teachers, students and parents are all invited to the meet where students participate in dance, drama, fasion shows, etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees were inline with the other VTU private college. AS this was private college, the full Bachelor of Engineering course fees were OK and in par with other educational institutions. The whole engineering during my course costed around 60K for 4 years. Thats the same cost in other private colleges as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans were not provided by college but were provided by the public sector banks and private sector banks. There was option for Jindal scholarships but were limited to category and poor students. This covered amounts in fees, books and hostel upto some extent.
Campus Life
I love this college.. Some time dreams most be achieved in college life.. But My all dreams must changed in this college life.. thank to My Sweet College with sweet memories.... Canteen was good, so majority of our times during final year was in canteen and hence it is most remembered days of life. College had good mix of boys and girls. Many of them were locals so a college had politics revolving around it.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel food was OK and i used to taste them once in a while as i was not staying Hostel. Washroom are not clean every thing is broken inside the bathroom. It's an college campus hostel only for college students. Overall it was OK hostel during our times.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumini network is not so good as many times they dont bank on alumini to provide better oppurtunities to existing batch of students. There will be alumini meet and records of all alumini might not be fully updated and hence needs to improve in that front.
Exam Structure
Exams were as usual and depending on the subject. total marks were 150 out of which we had 8 questions to answer in Theory and 100 marks for practical exams. max marks in the theory papers were 100 and we assumed best of 8 would be taken if someone dares to write answers to all 8 questions.
Admission
Admission was through CET and paid college fees as per CET norms and got admission into the college. The CET forms are procured through PUC College and we entered the relevant details for the admission. There will be Common Entrance Test, which is to be taken to procure admission in the Engineering colleges i Karnataka under VTU University.
Faculty
Faculty was good and there were good and experienced teachers during the regular course semesters. During the first years as its common course, subjects were good along with faculty. Labs were a bit not good, but the lab staff helped in all aspects to make the best use of infrastructure available at that point in time.
