Remarks

The period 2011 to 2016 is a black period in history of NBKRIST. But now it again started rising to previous charisma.. I had worst experience with management during my course period. Even after course completion I struggled to get my certificates( because of carelessness of management).

Entrance Preview

I took ECET, got 363 state rank, I didn't expect this college while giving options. But having only 2 seats out of 12 for general category(men, as women has 30% reservation) I didn't get college I want. Even I got seat of SC category( I think they didn't like this college).

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

From 2011 they ended their contract with SVU, and affiliated to VSU( worst university I had ever seen) they changed syllabus. Students have no right to select subjects from electives. Faculty themselves decide electives to teach. Fuzzy logic and neural networks is the only subject to see good from electives.

Internships Opportunities

My answer is simply No. Not found any records of doing internship. Students are busy in preparing for GRE, GATE etc., atleast to get better life after B.Tech.

Placement Experience

0.5

In 2013 TCS hired 12 students of all, and in 2014 only 6 students got selected for TCS. From 2015 onwards zero placements. College has worst placement officer (He comes to college chewing gutka or something pan). But I don't know current scenario in college. I heard that some core companies are coming to college to hire mechanical students I don't know whether it is real news or fake.

College Events

1

Estatica is the event conducted by students with their "own money " and the only cultural event conducted once in year under the supervision of " Director".(I think he is good for high school principal post not suited for engineering college). He is like Dolores Umbridge in Harry potter. No fresher's party and we have worst farewell party( our juniors tried well, but "rules of Director " spoiled the event). Besides this some technical events are conducted just for name purpose, they call them as national events, but even our college students won't participate in that, as they feel they are not useful for them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Until 2012 fee is ₹30,000+ 6000. Govt. of Andhra Pradesh pays 30000 and you have to pay only 6000 In 2013 it becomes shockingly ₹84,000, And in 2014 it comes to ₹55,000 special fee not included, of which you will get fees reimbursement of ₹30,000 and remaining you have to pay on your own hands.

Fees and Financial Aid

Government provides scholarship for SC, ST, OBC Categories. No scholarships for general category. Recently I heard that alumni is providing funds to top students on the basis of percentage of marks.

Campus Life

3.5

The only thing I satisfied is environment in college and outside college. But not allowed to sit anywhere in campus other than classrooms and library. There is a beach few km away from college. You can find palm trees , berry, mango, banyan trees everywhere. But in summer it is like hell. Sweat flows like floods, as it is near to sea. There is a sports club, gym for men, cricket ground. Tennis court, basketball court, shuttle court, ball badminton court, volleyball court etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are good. There are 5 hostels. Each room 4 persons. But only two tables. Common bathrooms. Mess is average. I don't know about hostel fees. If you want to stay outside you have to pay rent yearly (available from 4000 to 8000) there are many hotels outside but only few are good.

Alumni/Alumna

You can find NBKRIST students in every department and country wide. Contacts with alumni are not good so far. But now they are improving in this regards.

Exam Structure

Two Internals and one external per semester. Internals are for 40 marks. And externals are for 60 marks. Best of two internal marks are added with external marks. If you performed well in 1st internal then go to a movie during 2nd internal, no need to give it. Labs are conducted only during assigned slots in a week. If you are good in subject then labs give you relief from lecture classes. Otherwise, you feel like you are in hell. Lecturers give importance for records than experiments. You can see their sadism at peaks in labs.

Admission

Actually I didn't get seat in any college in 1st round counselling. With depression and frustration I optioned carelessly for 2nd round and my fate had chosen this college. 3 years of my life went in vain. But after they get rid of VSU I heard it is good there in College.

Faculty

2

The good thing here in this college when compared to other engineering colleges is all lecturers have a minimum M.Tech qualification. But the bad thing here is B.tech students are better than some of them. Only 4 or 5 lecturers has Ph.D. and the bad thing is they did that only to get high salaries. Only 4 lecturers are good with subjects and create interest in the subject. Remaining..... If you have insomnia sit in their classes. But mechanical and civil are good and of course, our college is good in those branches from decades.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chose mechanical (robotics). As they euipped with new equipment's of robotics I have inspired a lot and chose to go with this course. This course helps to understand the mechanical engineering an also robotics. It helps us to understand about the mechanism in hardware. It helps to understand about robot infrastructure and about drones. For this course if there is more depth in robotics subjects than it can better. The frequency and timing is good as they maintain a certain period of time gap between the exams and the difficulty level is also good. If studied for a week we can understand up to some level and have a chance to pass the exams.
