10+2 or Equivalent course has to be completed to apply for Economics at St. Joseph's College (AUTONOMOUS) Devagiri, having a background in Economics will definitely be an advantage. Details about application, fees, course and dates will be available on the college website. For reservation details follow Calicut University guidelines, it will also be mentioned in the college prospectus. The admission process is in accordance with Calicut University except being an autonomous college you will have to apply to Devagiri separately. The college is perfect for shaping yourself, with a great ambience and a great list of alumni awaiting you at SJC.

Course Curriculum Overview

Even in amidst of Pandemic exams were carried on a timely. The term exams do keep a high standard but if you follow the guidance provided by teachers and if you spend some quality time in the library then the exam's just a piece of cake.

Internships opportunities are provided in the College and you'll have to go through the college website for more details. It will provide students with enough exposure and experience. If you do will you may even be provided with placement opportunities in the very same firms or industries.

Placement Experience

Placements are provided in the college and premium firms participate in them. SIB, Federal Bank etc. Are few of them. The firms are reputed and a huge number of students have been employed every year. The college has a quite efficient employment cell too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are affordable if you get admitted in the Aided Quota and the Self Financing part isn't so costly either. All the government scholarships are available in the college if you meet the required qualifications. I got the Higher Education Scholarship for myself.

Campus Life

Nirvana, Envi and Reflate are the three main Department events at Devagiri. Along with various cultural programs, annual days, sports meet etc. NSS, NCC Navel, NCC Army etc are provided. All sorts of clubs actively perform in the college. The college has a quality indoor stadium with great facilities, a gym, a grand football turf, a cricket field, a sprint track etc.

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching,the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students

Great life from college

Placement Experience:

From the last semester pass out we a re eligible for the campus recruitment for job or placement. So many companies visit us for the interview or some checking like , hero honda , maruti suzuki etc. the main reason for it was a low amount of budget is that get from this placement maybe 15 thousand let month ect. Only the company can take the students for it so the percentage of the students who getting placement will change in every year. My plan was to get an admission in the central government University for doing master of degree in History. And try the best exam called upsc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are many aspects of the curriculum that infulenced my decision to choose BA English Literature in St. Berchmans College. Their syllabus is far more challenging and interesting than what other colleges and universities offer in Kerala. The examinations and overall assessment of projects and grades are top-tier and is comparatively difficult to obtain. The course steadily provides good quality information and knowledge on English Litearture and readies the student to be more than qualified for further studies in English Literature or any related courses. The areas where they can improve in the course curriculum is through availing more optional courses such as various other language courses/philosophy related courses to be selected. Their teaching environment can also be improved by improving basic infrastructure in the classrooms such as airflow etc. They conduct their exams freequently and on time. The examinations are challenging but necessary for overall improvement in students

St Joseph's College, Devagiri: The beginning of success and prosperity.

This college was my first choice and I am grateful that I got into it. Our +2 marks is the parameter to get the admission and after that you'll have a short interview as well. Some Devagiri things that you should know before joining.

To get admission students should have 85% of marks. As i have 93.5% i got the seat very easily. I was applied online by myself, I don't remember the application fees. I've availed OBC reservation benefits but I don't know about the details. The frequency of exam is around within every 4-5 months.
