A memorable Journey with many ups and down

Good-Keep up the good college atmosphere .Encourage students to participate in extra curriculum Bad -give a little more stress on practicals and understanding of subjects to students

I took up Karnataka Common entrance test (KCET) for getting a admit in BMS college of Engineering . I scored 163/180 in my CET and my CET rank was 788.I opted for this college because of its student atmosphere .I was referred to this college by my senior because this college gives equal opportunity to both Academics and Extra curriculum .I thoroughly enjoyed my stay .

The course curriculum will give you a in depth idea of the branch subjects .However the practicals were a little disappointing .Though you have plethora of books in the library to refer too ,hands on experience on some subjects are lacking making some of the concepts little vague and confused and thus the understand ability of the subjects decreases .

No the college does not provide internship .The student has to find out his own ways to get an internship .If he succeeds in getting a internship it will be an unpaid one

Placements and job opportunities are very good in BMSCE. Most of the companies that visit offer IT related jobs while the core offering is very less.The highest paid company that visited during my final year was nutanix which offered software development role to the cs students since they have strong knowledge in computer related subjects.An average performing student will get placed in mass recruiters like TCS and Accenture.

The biggest event that happens in my college is the annual fest - UTSAV. In this fest all kinds of activities such as dancing, fashion show, science, and general knowledge related quiz, skits etc happens. Students are given opportunities to host and organize the event without major interference from college management .the next event is the branch related fest that happens for 1-2 days with many students displaying and giving seminars on a thesis or a project.

The fee structure is feasible for both merit listed and management listed students .However the hostel and mess fees touch the sky .Government aided candidates pay around 35,000 rs fees,Private aided pay around 50,000.Management students pay the amount in lakhs [depending on the branch] and end up paying 2.5 lakh a year as fees .

No loan facilities were given to students .Library facilities were good.A student could keep three books for 15 days from his college issued library card .No transportation facility was there

As i mentioned college atmosphere is really good and the girl to boy ratio is 40:60 .Most of the management students are from north india and they end up increasing the revenue of the college .Students are from many states like delhi ,punjab ,harayana ,kolkata etc.There is a indoor stadium for sports like badminton ,table tennis, basketball .there is a gym right beside the indoor stadium .Equal weight age is given to both academics and extra curriculum.Inter college competitions were also organised for these activities

The hostel facilities and mess food are extremely good compared to other colleges .1 st years and 2nd years have to share the room with one of them, while in a 3rd-year student can opt for a single room hostel.Since it being in the center of the city, the allotment of rooms happens on merit based [12th and CET score ].There are also many PGs around the college for cheaper price. Quality of mess food is very good.Each day the menu changes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Non veg is provided on Wednesday and Sunday.

Alumni network is not so strong in this college .once you leave the college you wont find any mails from the alumni network nor the management .Seniors are helpful and will guide you if approached

The performance of a student in each semester Was evaluated subject-wise for a maximum of 100 marks for a theory and 100 marks for a practical subject. In addition, industry-oriented mini-project, seminar and project work shall be evaluated for 50, 50 and 200 marks, respectively..

I took up the admission in this institute from CET. The admission process was done through counseling.The counseling happened only through online mode. All Karnataka CET (KCET) admissions were done based on the ranking of the applicant in the merit list, his/her preference and availability of seats.

The faculty of my college is very well experienced and the other suitable factors like equipment,infrastructure,affordability, are also good. The faculty itself is sufficient and dependable. The environment of my college and hostel is easily adaptable. The student strength is highly competitive in nature. My college has a spacious library with a plethora of books which is one of the advantages to all the students.
