Remarks
The admission process required no entrance exam but it required more than 80% overall in class 12th. The application can be filled out online with no hassle. The application cost me Rs. 100 in 2018. The fee payment system for the first semester is done along with admission and you can't pay it online, you have to wait in a long queue to do the same as there is a rush of students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for B.sc honours in Mathematics as I have always found myself closer to Maths than any other subjects. Also, I scored highest in Maths among all the subjects. The faculty ratio is 1 per 70 or 75 students which I think is not up to the mark, it should be below 50. All the faculties I have studied from were average and a few even struggled to teach some concepts. The term exams are often postponed from their original dates and it was quite easy to pass them as they cut the syllabus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for three year B.sc honours is 60000 (for 3 years). This was quite high as the other colleges like Marwari are charging much less. Also, they take other fees like exam fees, library fees, lab fees, maintenance fees etc. This is quite frustrating for a middle-class student like me and the services provided against these fees are not also up to the mark. The reservation candidates get charged less and there is no scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus is one of the few things that I do not hate about this college and enjoyed it quite a lot with my friends. The campus area is so big considering the college is located in the centre of Ranchi. The annual fest is hosted by the different faculties in February. The library is average and the important books are available to rent and read. The college does compete in any inter City sports events like football or cricket so I would give a 1 out of 5 rating in this field. Social groups are mostly inter-class groups.
