I have applied for all other 1st gen and 2nd gen IITs including iit Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT kanpur, etc. I got this college because of my rank. No I didn't get rejected. My rank were low to get admission in those colleges One have to Given fist JEE Main exam if he gets qualified then he has to give JEE Advance exam after qualifing JEE advance exam he has to apply for counselling hoosing all college priority wise. For getting admission here, one has to first clear JEE MAINS first and then the JEE ADVANCED. Your college and branch purely depends on your rank in JEE ADVANCED. I cleared my IIT Jee advanced paper and I analysed the previous year cutoff criteria to get into the college and accordingly I chose the colleges in a particular Order.Firstly being an IIT,you will find many perks in case of fame,job,tag,title etc.Also I prioritised some branches over other in which I was interested,so considering my rank,my branch and my college options,I got in IIT Bhilai.I also applied to other IIT and some Bits,VIT and some EAMCET colleges but I decided to select this over other lower colleges. I got rejected by other 1st and 2nd gen IITs as my score was not enough to get into those,I could have got into those if I would have chose some other lower branches like Metallurgy,Ocean engineering etc but I wasn't sure about choosing those branches. The exams you need to write to get into IITs is Jee advanced for Btech and Integrated Btech and Mtech and Gate for Mtech.The eligibility criteria is you have to qualify Jee advanced first to write Jee advanced,and have 75% score in your 12th exams whether it be state or CBSE board. The eligibilty score depends on the year wise cutoff marks given by the exam authority itself and it differs every year. And once you clear and be eligible,you have to select the colleges according to your priority and you get colleges according to your score,Rank and the college and brach you chose. First you have to qualified for IIT-JEE(Mains) After that you have to take the IIT-JEE (ADV) examination. For general candidate for EE your rank should nearly 10,000 or below 10,000 so you can take the admission through JoSAA counselling. And for OBC nearly rank is required is (2500 to 4000 ).
