Remarks
The admission process is quite simple, it is part online, part offline. You have to register your details on the college website initially, and on a decided date, you have to visit the college for validation. Every detail regarding the fee structure, application dates etc is provided on the college website. There are several governments as well as college schemes for reserved students. Personally, I was satisfied with the admission process, although, to make the admission process easier, they can provide a better website interface for the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
St Aloysius College provides a vast curriculum of courses to choose from, mainly in the management department. I've pursued BBA as it piqued my interest. It provides general knowledge about the everyday market and economic situations of the country while being practical. For every class, there are a minimum of 4 teachers present, teaching different subjects according to their expertise. It is to be noted that the faculty of this college are extremely qualified to handle freshers and young graduates. The teaching method adopted by the faculty is very practical. Theoretical knowledge is given importance, but practical knowledge is also provided through simple assignments and examples. There are two term exams conducted, with a 3 or 4-month gap. Nevertheless, they were moderate.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in their final year. Many tech companies like TCS, HCL etc visit the college every year for fresh recruits. The percentage of students getting placed lies somewhere around 50%, as most of the students tend to opt for their post-graduation immediately. Personally, I wish to complete my graduation and appear for IBPS PO almost immediately.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure falls on the moderate side, it has been maintained in a certain fashion, so as to cater to the comfort of the students. The fee hike is hardly 10% to 20% in most courses, which makes it easily affordable for most students. Throughout the year, many scholarships are handed out to students to aid them in their studies. The majority of them are -funded. On top of that, the college hands out special scholarships to students they deem worthy.
Campus Life
Campus Life is very orderly and refreshing. With frequent events, both yearly and quarterly, students actively take part in representation. The library is one of the key parts of the education department. All the books required for students to grasp the context of their courses are present in the college library. Apart from the college library, we also have an online library. Any student who wishes to access it can easily do so. It is stocked with various e-books and PDFs. With respect to the pandemic, sports activities were put to a halt. Apart from that, NCC and NSS are two of the most active groups in the college, with new recruits every year.
