Remarks
To be eligible for the course you must have passed 12 with a minimum of 45% marks. Admission is done through the results of JEE MAINS exam. The affiliating University Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University conducts a separate counseling process and college is provided according to the rank of individuals.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have a keen interest in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I am very fond of electronic gadgets. That's why I choose this course. Also the electronics department has very good facilities. All labs are available with each and almost every piece of equipment. Faculty students ratio is balanced. There are sufficient teachers in the electronics department. Although very few faculties are Ph.D. qualified. Most of them are Mtech qualified but their teaching method is awesome. Terms exams were timely conducted. Considering the course, exams were difficult but teachers prepared us very excellently that we easily passed.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements after the 6th semester. Placement is average. Previously there was no support from the college end for placements but in the last 2 years(excluding the covid period) placements have been improved. A placement cell has been established by the institute. Still, there is much more for improvement. Most of the students prefer going off campus for placements. The average placement is 3 LPA and the highest package is 13 LPA(off campus). This year TCS, Capgemini, Ericson, and Wipro visited the college campus. I am looking for off-campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee for a year including all charges is Rs81707. There is an annual exam fee of Rs7865 charged by AKTU. The annual hostel fee is 45000. Rooms are good with separate almirah beds and tables for each student. Food is offered 4 times a day in the hostel. Students can easily avail government scholarships.
Campus Life
College life is very poor at FGIET. There is only one extracurricular activity in the name of fest and sports which is the Cricket Carnival. Students can participate in zonal sports competitions conducted by AKTU. The library has sufficient books but there is only one reading hall which is small considering the strength of students in college. There are no social groups or clubs in college.
