Course Curriculum Overview
I was always passionate about medicine. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:30. All Faculty are either post-graduate students or working doctors who cleared PSC. There are 3 term exams conducted roughly every 2 - 3 months finally University exam should be cleared to get promoted to next year. Exams are easy but the syllabus is very vast.
Internships Opportunities
House surgeons have to work long continuous hours shifts 7 days a week. The number of hours per day frequently exceeds the maximum hours recommended by the human rights commission. House surgeons are forced to do unofficial work passed on to them by senior doctors. The maximum permitted casual leave is 12 days over the house surgency period. The payment is 26000 currently and will increase by 1000 rupees every succeeding year
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is about 24000 annually and the additional fee includes the mess fee, hostel fee, books etc.. which adds upto 80000 annually. SC, ST, and OBC students can avail scholarships through different scholarship programmes issued by the central or state governments. The course duration is 54months followed by 365days of mandatory house surgency which pays a monthly stipend of about 26000 per month.
Campus Life
Fests are conducted multiple times throughout the year. These include competitive and non-competitive events. Competitive events are inter batch/ Intra batch for both arts and sports. They are not conducted in any particular month but usually right after exams. There are books written by well-qualified and experienced doctors available in the library which is free of cost. Outdoor sports are a huge part of campus life There are multiple basketball courts, volleyball courts, and cricket nets moreover there is a privately funded stadium that is utilised greatly by the students. Students run multiple social groups like imprints..etc
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room is spacious and provided with basic amenities from the second year onwards. First-year students are forced to be accommodated in dorms or private hostels. Breakfast and lunch are well accepted by students while dinner may receive mixed reviews. Mess is billed daily but paid monthly. Students can cancel mess as they wish. The hostel is allotted to all student who has applied prior.
