Remarks
You have to qualify for Jee mains +jee advance to get admission into IIT Kanpur. This year jee advanced held on 28 August.Reservation is available for OBC,EWS,SC,ST students. After clearing jee advance you have to go through Josaa counselling for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are two semesters per year. Each semester there are two major exams called mid-semester exams and end-semester exams. Apart from them, there are quizzes depending upon the professor. Academics are really tough and difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Almost 400-500 students got an intership among 1200 students. It is difficult to get an internship for non-crucial branches. Companies like Amazon, worldquant, Microsoft, opteiver, and sprinkler companies came for recruiting. Roles are SDE, data scientist, consulting, core etc.
Placement Experience
Placement starts from the 7th semester starting. Almost 90 % of students got placed on campus. almost 400-500 companies came for recruitment. Some students go for UPSC after graduation. I am preparing for the Quant profile.
Fees and Financial Aid
MCM scholarship in which you get a refund of your tuition fees. NSP scholarship is for SC, and ST students and give 1,50,000 rupees per year. FBM scholarship gives 40,000 rupees per year to students whose family income is less than 100000 rupees.
Campus Life
Antaragini cultural fest is held in October and Techkriti technical fest is held in the month of January or Feb.Udhghosh is a sports fest. Lots of clubs are there like- music, drama, dance, remodelling, English, book, quiz club, programming club and lots of other clubs.
Hostel Facilities
In first and second year students got 2 seater and 3 seater room .after second year we get single room.All basic need of a student is taken care.Fan and chair,tables,bed are provided. Quality of food is average,somedays very good,and some days not.
