Remarks
Eligibility is quite simple, you just have to score the cutoff mark and there are various exams that are taken into consideration for your admission. You can easily find the application details on the www.gitam.edu website and all details regarding the university are mentioned clearly. I did not avail any reservation benefits, so I'm not aware of the procedure. Nope, the entire process is generally hassle-free, and the student is guided through it carefully by the university authorities.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took up the CSE Program in B.Tech since my interests were aligned with the program brochure given at my admission. My journey personally has been pretty smooth, fortunately. The faculty-Student ratio is pretty much balanced, considering the huge number of students. There are mentors, and buddies assigned to each student so that they can clear any issues the student might face. Teaching methods and qualification, of course, depends on the faculty, but almost all the faculty members are at least M. Tech Graduates, so they're pretty skilled to teach. We have 3 mid examinations per semester and it's quite easy to pass provided you stay consistent with your studies.
Internships Opportunities
There were no specific drives for placements, I picked up my internship through LinkedIn, and had a stipend of about 3, 000 per month. I built a static display website for the company and it gave me a good experience.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to sit for placements from the 7th semester and about 100+ companies come to offer jobs. There are many companies that visited like Amazon, IBM, Deloitte, Hitachi, TCS, Bosch, etc. The highest package was 44LPA at Amazon, Average is around 6-7LPA 80% of students generally get placed easily. I plan to take up my placement offer from Deloitte and go for an MBA after about 3-4 years of service.
Fees and Financial Aid
Overall tuition cost per year is 2,72,500 Hostel Fee per semester including food and accommodation is 67, 500 I have not received any scholarship or financial aid, but I'm placed on campus at Deloitte with a package of 7.6LPA + Incentives.
Campus Life
Campus life, for any student who can use it accurately, is absolutely amazing. There are a plethora of student bodies you can join as a freshie and improve yourself to the core. There are many fests conducted by over 70+ clubs here at GITAM and the most prominent ones are KK Fest and GUSAC Carnival, these two are generally conducted in the months of May and October. The university central Library is a three-floor building with loads and loads of books you can pick up with every possible subject book there. The library team is also pretty friendly, so they can purchase any book if you request. Amenities are properly maintained and you can study in an extremely comfortable atmosphere in AC considering Vizag's humid weather. There are several sports available including Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess and a lot of lot more. GDSC (Google Developer Student Clubs) is one of the Clubs run by students for students. There are several other such clubs as well.
Hostel Facilities
For Girl's Hostel, you have a sharing room with 4 beds, 4 personal cupboards, 4 chairs and tables, 4 study lamps and a window, it's pretty spacious and the rooms are maintained very well by the staff. Meal quality is great, and the menu keeps changing often, but the food sometimes does not meet your expectations. Registration is pretty simple, parent signatures and a local guardian signature are mandatory, compared to other PGs and rental accommodation, Hostel is cheaper with all amenities. I did not rent a room, so I'm not eligible to answer this question.
