Remarks
I have admitted through ECET as I am from diploma background. I have secured state 5th rank. Only 3 seats will reserved for diploma lateral entries out of 30. And in that 3 seats also 1 seat will be open and another 2 seats will be for reserved people. Hence it used be very hard to get seat in AU
Course Curriculum Overview
In our region, AU and JNTUK are the good universities. Andhra University is in Visakhapatnam which is good standard to live and study. So, I chose AU over JNTUK. Faculty student ratio is very good, it's around 1:12. All professors are PhD scholars. It's very tough to pass exams in AU
Placement Experience
From 4-1, all are eligible for campus placements. But the problem is most of the companies are software companies. Civil/mechanical like branches used to get very less companies that too for less package. Once we got 1.8 LPA package company also. Too worst in this scenario
Fees and Financial Aid
Actually it is very affordable to study in Andhra University. Because the annual fee was around 10k per year and that too will reimbursed by government. And the people who stays in hostel will get mess fee as scholarship. It is so useful
Campus Life
To be fair, don't except fests from AU. But we used to conduct Department day, block(hostel) day in the month of February. We have engineering library in campus and central Library in South campus. Amenities are not that much good. Sports were good. Commincon used to social group by students for English Language communication
Hostel Facilities
I was in Block 1. Two persons will allotted to one room. 2nd year, 3rd year and fourth year students will be one hostel (branch wise). All first year students will be another block. Block 5 is for ladies. Block 7 is big. Meal is nit good not bad.
