Remarks

The admission process is so simple than we think. There is no entrance exam for a bachelor's degree in Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute. Application is made both online as well as offline. They charge 500/- per application form. There's also concession available for the students whose background is from cini field. If you are from a poor background also, can opt for concession by simply writing a letter to the president of the college. Since they treat the people who come for the admission process very well with good manners, there's no need for any change in it. You should complete your HSC from a science background to get admission in BSc Psychology. If the case, you're from the commerce department you can choose for BA, but it's not available at this University.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Psychology is certainly a new term when I was completing my 12th std and I thought it would be really great to explore this particular field. There is a total of 80 students including me in the psychology department. Faculty members are naturally calm, sweet, and good listeners since they are all psychologists. They are from different fields like clinical, counselling, Human resource, etc., So it was a great experience to know in-depth about each field from the experienced staff. The teaching method is good, especially in the psychology department. Staffs are really good and they are ready to listen to all our stuff in a non-judgemental manner. This helped me to share even my personal lives with them where I could able to get counselling for them. Just listening to their classes and a small revision before the exam is more than enough to clear all semester papers. There will be 2 semesters per year.

Placement Experience

3

Regarding placements, they use to send regular campus drive information. But since I was planning for my master's, I was not really into that. Students who scored above 70% are eligible for the campus drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

It costs 50000/- per year. Since I was from a middle-class family I wrote a letter to the college president regarding concession and they offered me a 50% concession. It really helped me to complete my graduation. The psychology field basically requires more than a bachelor's degree it is necessary to pursue master's in this field. Yet, the campus drives were been sent to us on a regular basis, and it was useful for some who were not planning to do masters.

Campus Life

3.5

Life on campus will really teach me a lot of pros and cons. It broke my expectations and made me more energetic inside the campus. Since I spend my 2 years in the corona batch I was unable to enjoy more of my college life and all the field trips were cancelled due to the COVID time. But there were many plans regarding IV, Culturals, freshers day it's all been spoiled. They also made us involved more in extracurricular activities like sports, yoga, workshop, internships, additional government courses, etc., It was very useful now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography, the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate, which helps in consistent preparation, however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning, and modern teaching methods

The courses are well structured and interesting espcially the social psychology and basic psychology papers. in a semester there are 2 internal exams and they will be at least a month apart from each other. as long as you study your course materials, the exams are pretty easy however otherwise it might be a tough one. the courses are well structured espcially the social and basic psychology. and in some semesters, there will be a reading period where students are encourged to go and read in the Library.. The Curriculum served as a base for Internships and basic understanding but it is required to do masters to get a job in psychology filed
