Remarks
The admission was quite smooth. I had given the NEET UG entrance exam for getting into the medical course and the application was to be filled up in neet.nta.nic.in and the cut-off for my category to qualify in the entrance exam was around 150 marks where I got a rank of 4700 and 646 marks after that through wbmcc the counselling took place and I got admitted into Kolkata Medical College.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose that course because I wanted to have a keen knowledge about the physiology of the human body and also it offers a reliable career. Faculty: student ratio is optimum. Faculty or well trained and updated with the latest competency-based curriculum. There always ready to solve our doubts at any time. The term exam occurs in a gap of 2 months and is quite difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides a compulsory one-year internship in the college itself and also provides a monthly stipend to all the interns. The internship provides quality practice for future doctors. The interns get accustomed to the daily cases exposed to them.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no such type of fee high policy in my college and the cause to study is moderate with respect to other colleges. The various types of scholarships are provided by the State government and Central Government which are acceptable by the college authority and stipend is provided during internships.
Campus Life
The campus is quite large, neat and clean surrounded by patients all the time. A freshers party is organised by the college union which is named Alapan to welcome the freshers into the college. There is a huge number of books with updated editions with both national and international books in the library. The classroom is well set up by the projector, and microphones in an air-conditioned room. There is a table tennis court in the general common room. There is a Medical College Democratic Student Association(MCDSA) run by college students who raise their voices against the problems related to college life and the basic amenities required by college students.
