Entrance Preview
VITMEE... I got around 2100 rank and managed to get a seat in biomedical engineering! I also had many other courses to choose from both Vellore and Chennai campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is best in this university.. you get to do mini-projects at the end of every semester, thereby making a student not only to complete the course but makes him a successful engineer .. thanks for the wonderful infrastructure and lab facilities.
Internships Opportunities
No. But we had a foreign exchange program with universities abroad. Based on the availability and merit students were sent to the universities with which the institute had MoU.
Placement Experience
The placement in vit is well known all over India. They provide the best... But they don't have many placements for biomedical engineers. Everyone was given at least one placement in an It company, but the inclusion of core biomedical companies would be much appreciated.
College Events
There used to be functions and celebrations in our college for everything.. anything you name it, we celebrate! Being a college where students from different part of India is pooled in we celebrate every festival.. also we have technical symposium almost every month from various department.. of which Gravitas is one of a kind and well known.. not to forget the famous cultural even Rivera that's been conducted in our campus every year!
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is quite high but the education and the infrastructure stand up to justify the cost! There were no extra charges which other colleges would collect in the name of "other fee". Students were also given confession in fee if they have a good score on academics.. gate scores are also recognized here.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students who had cleared competitive academic exams were considered and given scholarships. Students with gate scores are also given a decent amount as recognition for their success.
Campus Life
This college maintains a proper co-education environment! There is a students grievance group inside the campus that addresses all the issue that a student face inside the campus! The festival's of very origin in the country is recognized and celebrated inside the campus!
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are at the best in this university.. they have so many multi-story buildings just to accommodate the students.. the cost of the rooms differs from block to block.. it usually ranges from 65000 to 120000. If you need AC room and special meals then you may have to spend around a lakh..
Alumni/Alumna
There are an alumni network and a separate section in the college that take care of this related process! Alumni meets are arranged and are informed to us through emails that were given to us with vit domain which after completing course changes to vit alumni ..
Exam Structure
The exams and labs were well planned and scheduled.! We never had more than one lab a day ! Apart from the normal working hours we were also allowed to use labs in the bin working hours too. There use to be staff in every labs beyond with hours helping with mini projects
Admission
A written test based on our ug specialization was conducted .. Based on the marks I obtained I was called for covering l counseling. I attended various courses on both Vellore and Chennai campus I chose biomedical engineering on the Vellore campus.
Faculty
All our facilities were in their best form! Though few didn't complete PhDs they had their own method of imparting knowledge and were successful too! The flexibility in conducting examinations and test patterns brought out a new strategy in education
