Admission Criteria had components of CAT, PI, Work Experience and Graduation/10th Marks. After getting shortlisted based on the CAT result, we had our Interviews. After this, the final admission list is released considering a composite score with all components having different weights.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum and faculty are some of the best in the country at IIMC. There are 3 terms each year, and every term has mid-term and end-term exams. Additionally, there is also a project and class participation component for the majority of subjects. 2nd-year courses are entirely elective.
Internships Opportunities
100% summer placement scenario for internships in all broad sectors of the industry. Preparation for the summer process starts soon after 1st-year students start their campus journey. PPO rates are also very high for Finance and Consulting roles.
Placement Experience
Three broad types of placements- Summer Placements for 1st-year students to find Internships, Lateral and Final Placements for final-year students depending on their Work Experience. Final Placement is in the final term of the course. Figures about placement packages on the internet, and on the college websites, are correct.
Fees and Financial Aid
Apart from the course fee, the Mess fee is separate and charged every month. There are various scholarships available including Need Based financial assistance. The loan is also easily attainable for every student without much paperwork.
Campus Life
IIM Calcutta is known for its brilliant campus life and one of the most fun campus experiences among all Indian B-Schools. 7 Lake Fest takes place in November and there are many activities almost every week. In Library, we get all books.
Hostel Facilities
There are 4 Hostels, 3 of them are old and the new one is Lake View Hostel. Every student is given a single room with all basic amenities. Mess Food is decent in all hostels and the menu is decided by the student representatives. There is no AC however.
Interview Experience
There was no GD during the pandemic, only online Personal Interviews were conducted after the CAT exam. All components for admission are CAT Score, PI Score, Class XII, and Class X marks, Work experience months, and Academic Diversity points.
