LIFE IN NIT JAMSHEDPUR

12th pass, JEE mains qualified students. JEE mains is conducted by NTA(National Testing Agency) twice every year. You can fill application twice a year. The exam is conducted by NTA. You will get the application form from the official website of NTA. The admission process is being carried out by JOSSA. You have to fill out a list of choices before seat allocation. You will get the best seat depending upon your rank and choice filled in 6 rounds. In every round, you have the chance to lock your seat but after that, you will not be able to sit in other rounds which are left.

I have a great interest in machines and I want to learn different aspects of working processes in industries that's why I chose mechanical engineering at NIT JAMSHEDPUR. NIT JAMSHEDPUR is one of the best colleges to study Btech. In mechanical engineering, there are 22 faculty members on 123 students. It has a good ratio of faculty and students ( 22:123). All the facilities are well-educated and well-qualified. Most of them have their MTech and Ph.D. degrees from top colleges like IITs. They are well in the research field. The teaching method is good. Smart teaching abilities are present in every faculty member. There are 8 semesters in the whole course. 2 semesters every year. In every semester there is a mid and end-semester examination. Mid sem exam is of moderate level but the end-semester examination is a little bit on the tough side. But as usual, working hard for at least one month before exams will give you good grades.

From 3rd year students are eligible for internships and form 4th year for placements. Approximately 96 percent of students get placed Every year. The average package is about 9LPA and the median package is about 8LPA.

Cost to study is a little bit high in comparison with other government colleges, specially nits. . Fee structure: Every semester 62.5k tuition fee, 25k institute fee, 18k hostel and mess fee, But you can avail of free remission as per the government's instructions. Full tuition fee remission (annual income below 1 lac). 1/3 tuition fee remission (annual income between 1 to 3 lac). 2/3 tuition fee remission (Annual income between 3 to 5 lac). Every year too many fests are conducted. Ojaas, urja, culfest, CDS fest Etc. These fests include technical, cultural, and different competitions. Nit Jamshedpur campus is on 351 acres. Hostels age good and food is also of average quality. From the second year, you will get a single room to live in. In the central library, all types of books are available. Some basic facilities like a reading room are also available. Classrooms are well equipped with smart teaching facilities. Rooms are comfortable and have all the basic technologies for smart teaching.
