Mechanical Engineering in NIT Jamshedpur

You have to clear JEE MAINS examination to get into these colleges. Jee mains is conducted by NTA twice a year. You can search for the application form on the official website of NTA. For gen student application fee is 650/- and for girls + other category students it's only 350/-. In all nits, there is a state quota of 50% in each branch. You can avail of this benefit. The admission process is under jossa. In the JOSSA admission process, you have to fill in a list of choices of your colleges and you will get the best as per your rank. 95-100 percentile is good to get admission in these nits. The seat allocation process is online for all 6 rounds of seat allotment.

I am very much interested in physics and machining things so I chose this course in nit Jamshedpur. There are 22 faculty in my mechanical course. And students are 123 in number. So, the faculty and student ratio is 22:123. All the faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Some have completed their higher degrees from top iits and other science colleges. In my course, 8 semesters in 4 years. In each sem, you have to give mid and end-sem. The end sem is quite tough but has good and quality questions. By studying every day, you can get good marks in this examination.

Some of the core and noncore companies visit our campus and give job roles accordingly. Internships are provided for two or six months. Some students are also working on research projects under faculty members.

From the 3rd all are eligible for internship and from the 4th year, all are eligible for placement drives. Quite a good number of students get placed every year. After getting a degree many go to job profiles some prepare for GATE and CAT and pursue higher studies.

The course fee is less in comparison with private colleges but a little more than some government colleges. The total cost for 4 years is around 8 to 10lac. But you can get fee remission based on your income. If Annual income is less than 1lac then full tuition fee remission. If in between 1 to3lac, then 2/3 tuition fee remission and if in between 3 to 5 lac then 1/3 tuition fee remission. The tuition fee for each semester is 62.5k.

In my college, there are lots of fests held every year like Ojas, CDs, tech fest, cognition, urja, etc. Some of them are sports fests, some are technical fests, and cultural fests. You can get overall development here. A central library is also there. Almost all the engineering stuff is there. Various books are available. A good place to read books. Separate room for reading. The sports ground is good. Badminton and tennis court is in good condition. One ground is for cricket. There are so many clubs like phoenix, Daksh, revanta, Taiwan, and NSS is also there.

In 1st year you have to share your room with one person and after that, from 2nd year onwards you will be given a single room. In a single room, you will get a bed a chair and a table. The hostel has 7 floors and a lift. Total 6 blocks on each floor. A balcony is also attached to the room. The meal is of average quality. A variety of food is on the menu which repeats after seven days. Fast food is also included. You will get a hostel allotment along with the admission process. The mess fee is also included. The hostel is on the campus itself. The campus is full of greenery.
