Remarks
There is a two-step admission process. One stage if JEE MAINS and the next is JEE Advanced. To get admission into IITM you should be in the top 0.01 percent of the appeared candidates. Both exams require an intense amount of preparation.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have an interest in electrical engineering. The curriculum is really good here and the faculty are really nice. They teach very patiently and in a great and efficient manner which helps us in grasping concepts easily. There is semester-wise examinations.
Internships Opportunities
There are multiple internship seasons every year. A vast number of companies from start-ups to multinational companies come and offer internships. Students can even work on the projects offered by the professors.
Placement Experience
There is a placement percentage of almost 90 every year. Different multinational companies like Amazon, Google, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft, come and offer vast no of job offers. Packages range from 10LPA to 90LPA. Some time a crore package is also possible
Fees and Financial Aid
If the parent's annual income is more than 5 lakh per annum, a tuition fee of 2 lakhs should be paid. Else if the income is more than 1 lakh but less than 5 lakh only one-third of the above amount needs to be paid. If the annual income is less than 1 lakh or the student is sc/St tuition fee is completely free. There are scholarships from the government for SC, SC, and EWS candidates.
Campus Life
The campus has a wide range of extracurricular and co-curricular activities. There are about 30 clubs comprised of many fields like sports, cultural, and tech. There is a big central library in which you can find a wide range of books.
Hostel Facilities
There are almost 20 hostels on campus. All are non-AC. The hostel fee is around 70k per year including the mess fee. There a late two kinds of mess ls available north mess and south mess, so the students can choose between them.
