Nit Raipur: A brief summary

First of all, you have to give jee main to be eligible to get admission in this college. The admission procedure starts after the jee main results, as well as advanced, are out, the seat allotment is done by a joint seat allocation body named Josaa, where reservation benefit is as per the revised norms of the central government and there is also 50% home state quota. Josaa conducts 6 counselling rounds for the seat allocation, and after that Csab also carries the subsequent two rounds for the remaining seats in nits. In my college, if you are aiming for cse (another state) in nit Raipur, your rank should be around 8-10k in jee main, while to get core branches like a Mech, ECE, and electrical you have to get 12-20k rank.

I chose mechanical here because I had a fair amount of love for physics and its applications, plus the faculty here in nit Raipur is very very experienced, one of my professors is teaching since 1987, you can take it as one of his past pg and PhD student is also a professor in the same department from past 20 years, mechanical being the biggest department of nit Raipur, we have more than 40+ professors, and 10+ temporary and teaching assistants, all of my professors have done there masters and PhD from iits Or Institute of similar stature, and in our cbcs scheme, we got a 5 month semester in which we have to give one mid sem and one end sem examination, + the assignments and term paper, the one who just gives attention in class and study at the time of exam clears the exam easily.

Companies that visit our college for placement in non-core include Amazon, Atlassian, dshaw, Samsung, adobe etc, while mechanical saint Gobain, tata steels, TVs etc visit our campus for internship and PPO. While our professor and various PhD scholars also involve in various projects and offer research internships in their projects. For non-core stipend for two months may vary between 50k-1.5 lakh, while in core companies offer may vary from 20k-50k per month.

We get eligible for internship and PPO after the 4th semester. There is 100% placement for circuital branches that is cse, it, ECE, EE, and about 80% placement for core branches like mech. For non-core companies like Amazon, Microsoft, abode, and Samsung etc, for analysts, all big 4 companies visit our college, and for mechanical specific PSU like BPCL, will etc visit our campus and core companies like bosch, Maruti Suzuki, tata steels, Vedanta, hero moto corp, caterpillars, TVs etc visit our campus. This year's overall highest package is 2cr placed in Facebook London, while the overall average package was 9 lakh and it is 7.7 lakh in mechanical. My plan is to get a placement in a core company.

The fees structure is based on the financial conditions of the family, the one with a family income of less than 1 lakh per annum has to give only around 5k per year, and with a family income between 1-5 lakh the fee is 50864 per year, and for family income above 5 lakh it is 138000, and there are many scholarships available like state and national obc and st and sc students scholarship, pmrf, scholarships by some of the past faculties for the meritorious students. Campus jobs are fine, for mechanical PSU like bpcl, engineers India limited, companies like tata steels, Maruti Suzuki, TVs, Vedanta, caterpillars, bosch, hero motocorp for core and companies like zs associates, Deloitte, phonepe, fractal, ola etc. For non-core specifically for mechanical students.

Though the campus is not that big, campus life is pretty much fun, our college has many students committee, clubs and cells. Our college hosts central India's largest tech fest 'avartan' which is conducted by the technical committee technocracy, and also central India's largest cultural fest 'Eclectika' conducted by the cultural committee Sanskriti, our college has various clubs like abhinaya for drama, raaga for music, nrityam fir dance, NCC, NSS for social service, sahyog for college-related help, go green club, robotics club, motorsports club that takes part in various competition like formula bharat, ebaja, sehbaja etc, finance club, pmrc for reporting, innovation cell, entrepreneurship cell, sports committee shaurya etc. We have a central Library with more the 10+ lakh books in it, plus we have departmental library for every department

There are 5 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel in our college, out of 5, 4 are for first year students and have two seater rooms, while the one big hostel is for second third and fourth year students with three seater rooms along with almirah, table chair and bed. total intake of about 1100 students including all the boys hostel. So, our college couldn't accomodate all the students in hostels so many students live around our campus outside in ddu nagar and behind our college in kota in rental rooms. Food served in our mess is just eatable like other mess, menu is good, we do get non-veg and paneer twice a week. After every year, on the cgpa basis, a hostel is allotted so there is also competition there.
