Amity University, Gwalior- A review

I got admission according to my 12th percentile along with a scholarship. The college helped me throughout the admission process. The administrative staff was kind and provided us with all the details of admission beforehand.

I chose this course since I was interested in the field of the IT sector. The course provided me with a lot of opportunities to sharpen my skills of programming and developing software. The faculty gave us their attention and helped in every way possible. There are various faculties for all the programming languages and software used in the IT sector. The exams are conducted twice a semester, once in the middle and the other at the end of the semester.

The placement process starts from the 6th semester onwards. The eligible students can apply for the on-campus placements and if they can get placement by themselves, they can apply from outside the campus. The highest package for this year is 33 LPA and the average package goes around 9-10 LPA. Approximately, 80% of the students get placed each year, and the remaining either opt out of campus placements or go for higher studies.

The Fees are structured throughout the 4 years of graduation with a hike of Rs 4500 every year. On average a sum of 2 Lakhs is spent on a student per year including the extra expenditures of food, clothing, etc.

A number of fests are held in the college on regular basis. There is an Annual fest held each year during the months of February and March, Sangathan (sports) held each year during the months of September-October, and several other fests and parties. The libraries have a lot of books of course and novels of a variety of genres. Classrooms have projectors, and Football, Basketball, Volleyball and several other sports amenities are provided for the extracurricular growth of students. Several clubs such as coding, photography, and poetry clubs are established, run and looked over by the student body.

The hostels are spacious and well-maintained. The Dorms are divided into three rooms with two people in each room, and attached bathrooms for the dorm. Hygiene is good as the staff dusts the room every day and occasional sprays insect repellants is performed. Meals are made fresh every day with quality food and nutrients. The mess provides 4-time meals, breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Special food is prepared during the fasting seasons such as Navratri.
