Review of ZHCET, AMU

The eligibility criteria are to pass the Intermediate examination with at least 60% marks. The entrance exam for AMU B.Tech is called AMUEEE and you can find the application form link on amucoe.in website. Application fees are 500 and dates vary accordingly. The only reservation is for internal students (those who have done schooling at AMU). No improvement in the admission process, the procedure is efficient for the selection of students.

I chose the Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering because this course is very demanding at this University. In civil engineering, the faculty-student ratio is 1:30. Faculty are well qualified, most of them have done their master's and Ph.D. from top IITs and have ample experience. In one semester, 2 exams are held. The first is mid-semester exams and the second one end semester exams. The difficulty level is moderate to pass the exams and scoring good/ top marks, it's quite difficult.

Various internship opportunities are available with Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology. PWD internship is available here in Aligarh, an internship by Larsen and Toubro is available nearby in Delhi, also many construction sites and internships are available in Aligarh. Online internships are Also available from reputed institutes like top IITs, NITs, and Jamia Millia Islamia. Many students from our college went to Canada for Mitacs Globalink Research Internship and received a stipend of around 300000.

On-campus placements at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University is average. From the 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit the campus like Adobe, Laursen and Turbo, Samsung, Wipro, Accenture, etc. Around 100 offers were made this year on campus. The highest package was lpa and the average package was around 5 LPA. Around 50% of students get placed by on-campus company visits, the rest of the students go for off-campus placements, or government exams and jobs and higher studies. After getting the degree I plan to get some experience in jobs then I will pursue MBA.

Course fees for the 1st year were 20000, and for the 2nd and consecutive years, it is 5360. There are several scholarships for needy and meritorious students from the government, university, and alumni network. Alumni also help financially needy students. Campus jobs are average. The fee hike is very minimal at Aligarh Muslim University. Various scholarships are there, and I got the Sultan Jahan Scholarship funded by the Alumni Association of the United States of America. The amount of stipend was 10000 per month for 1 year.

The campus life at Aligarh Muslim University is amazing. Lots of fests are organized almost every month. A few of them are Hygienisia Fair by Medical College, Cultural Fest by CEC Club, Lit Fest by the Cultural education department, and many more. The central library of Aligarh Muslim University is Maulana Azad Library, which is the biggest University Library in Asia having a great number of books and journals. Apart from the central library, many more libraries are there on campus. For different hostels, different libraries are also there. The classrooms are well equipped and good. Projectors and smart classes are there with LED screens, the microphone is also available, and the seating arrangement is good. Sports and extracurricular activities are also there, various types of games like Billiards, hockey, polo, cricket, and football is available. Drama clubs, fusion music, etc. are also available. Drama and music club, Roboclub, UAV, AUV, Formula Racing Club, and IEEE all these clubs are run by students.

Hostel Facilities are top-notch. The rooms are good. The canteen and general store are there in the hostel. An air-conditioned Library and reading room are available in the hostel itself. Rooms have fans, coolers, tube lights, an almirah, a heater, and beds. The dining is also good, meal quality is average and the menu is average too. The registration process for a hostel is very simple, you've to just submit the required documents and you'll get a room. Affordability is very cheap, you've to just pay 2000 per year for a hostel. I'm living in a hostel.
