Remarks

The admission process was through an online exam BITSAT out of 450 marks which are now out of 390 marks from AY-2022. The application for the exam is online entirely through bitsadmission.com. The cost of application for the exam is somewhere around 3500. Once you have given the exam online in respective test centers then your score will be spontaneously shown on the screen. After a week or 2 of the online exam, the application form gets released wherein you have to fill in the preference order for your desired branch. There is no reservation for BITS. It's entirely merit-based

Course Curriculum Overview

5

BITS offers dual degree schemes for students wherein you have to opt to join for MSc degrees like economics, math, chemistry, physics, and bio, and based on your GPA at the end of the first year you will be allotted dual engineering branches like CSE, EEE, ECE, ENI, etc. The faculty is pretty well experienced with almost everyone having a Ph.D. and the ratio is approx. 1:7. The academics are not very hectic, they can be managed just by studying one or two days before the exam. The unique part is having a surprise tutorial test early in the morning.

Internships Opportunities

5

Apple India PVT LTD Hyd, Distributor data pipeline development, 1.5lpa per month(6-month duration). Microsoft Hyd, data analyst 1.3 LPA per month. Adobe Systems, BLR, Backend developer 1.5lpa per month.

Placement Experience

5

Students can sit for placements in 4th year either of the two semesters and dual degree students, can sit for placements in 5th year in either of the semesters. Many top companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Mercedes Benz, Jp Morgan, Morgan Stanley, etc. visit the campus for placements and internships. The highest domestic package in AY 2021-2022 was 90lpa and the average was 19lpa. Approximately 95% of students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

BITS is known for its hectic fees and an yearly increment of 5-8%. But the college offers scholarships to students who perform well in exams. There are two types of scholarships MCN and Merit. Under MCN students get scholarship ranging from 15%-80% of their semester fee back/refunded. While under Merit students get 40-100% of their semester fee back. Educational loan is also provided by various banks very easily with low interest rates.

Campus Life

5

There are 3 major fests in the college BOSM (sports fest) in October, APOGEE (tech fest) in April, and OASIS (cultural fest) in Nov/Dec. All of them were celebrated and organized completely by the students grandly. There is a very big library in the college which can accommodate 2000 people at once with over 1.5 lakh + books and journals in it. Fun fact: you can find everyone in the library during the exams as it will be open 24hrs. There are 5 very big academic buildings on campus with all classrooms digitalized and airconditioned. The sports facilities are also decent with a cricket ground, football, basketball, tennis, skating, badminton, squash, snooker facilities and of course a gym. Also, there are many clubs, departments, and associations on campus in various fields like tech, literature, finance, sports, etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostels in BITS are quite decent with a bed, cupboard, table, and chair provide to each student. Hostels are randomly allocated for 1st-year students and from there on you can form wings with your friends and stay together. From the 3rd year onwards you will be getting a single room. Food is also quite decent and quality and hygiene are maintained.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.
