Remarks
The admission is based on reap merit list. And obviously on the JEE mains percentile. It also depends on the reservation like OBC, ST, or SC. If the reap rank is under 200 u may get a good branch. If u didn't get your desired branch then there is upward movement and internal sliding where most of the students get the desired branches. If still, u don't get what u wanted then there is a spot round where admission will be based on 12th board scores. The reservation of state and Kashmiri migrants is 5% each. And everything will be available at the time of reporting. Reporting is mostly done in the seminar hall.
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about my branch its Electronics and computer (ECC) which comes under the department of Electronics and communication (ECE). Branches like Mining, ECC, CSE, and IT get most of the placements. In mining branch we can say the placements are approx 100%. The professors are highly qualified and very knowledgeable. The University follows a strict annual calendar and all the exams are according to the calendar.
Placement Experience
Around 6th semester students are eligible for placements. Most companies come for the placement like my branch Infosys, TCL, airtel, Wipro, adobe, etc. And the placements are also good. The average package is around 9 lacs highest are more than 20. mostly 80% of students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
For GAS the fees per semester are 15500 and for SFS it is 30500. Most of the students apply for scholarships. There are numerous scholarships available here and most of the students get them. Most scholarship eligibility depends upon the reservation.
Campus Life
Many fests are conducted by the university if we talk as the recent fest KAIZEN (cultural fest) and ENTHUSIA (sports fest), THOMSON (cultural fest in IIT Roorkee). And the library is the best place as you will get most of the books. The campus life is best. Most of the sports are played on campus like football, cricket, hockey, badminton, tennis, and athletics and there are many indoor games too. There is a proper team for every sport. There are clubs that are run by the students such the debate, robotics, sports and many more are there.
