Remarks

The admissions to Government Law College, Mumbai is through the MH-CET entrance exam. The application form for the entrance exam is available on the MH-CET official website. To be eligible you must've ve completed your 12th grade from any stream. The only thing about admission through CET is that it is a very slow process and you get admitted somewhere near November December.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I've chosen this course because I've always wanted to be someone in the legal profession especially after watching SUITS, lol. The faculty altogether is very good and learned and also very well qualified. We also have many visiting professors and the teacher student ratio is 20:1. The first 2 semesters will pass so quickly that you won't even understand what happened passing exams in are not that difficult but it also isn't easy.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Various firms offer internships to the students of Government Law College. Also, there is a Placement Committee which looks after the same i.e. Placements and Internships. The stipends depend on the firms and may vary from one firm to another.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for campus placement after the 5th semester. There are more than 50 companies who have visited the GLC campus for placements including various corporate firms, Government Authorities, tribunals, and LPOs. The highest package offered is 20 Lakhs per annumnand the average package is of 10 Lakhs! I am currently planning to practice in the court after the completion of my degree!

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of GLC, Mumbai is pretty low compared to any other law college of this quality. Also, you get government scholarships and you fees reduce even further. The college has it's Placement Committee which provides you with best placements and internships.

Campus Life

5

Many National and International Moot Court Competitions, MUNs, and Judgement Deliberation Competitions are held in Government Law Colleges throughout the year. Also, it is blessed with a rich Library where you can immerse yourself in reading. The classrooms are not do modern but still have basic amenities like Projectors, Speakers, etc. Lol. GLC also has its football and cricket teams and takes part in various sporting events and extracurricular activities. There are many committees like the CDLS, Moot Court Association, MUNSOC, etc.

Trilegal, JSA, AZB, Tatva Legal and various other law firms from Mumbai itself offers us jobs worth 10 to 20 lakhs. In a cours where only a few colleges have placements ours is one of those. It has tie-ups with many lawyers and firms whichbare into litigation or arbitration.

The curriculum is extremely outdated. While NLU students are learning about law in thier first year itself, we have to wait till 3rd year for the same thing. A lot of students end up learning more at internships rather than at college

From 4th Year of the college the student is eligible for a pre-placement offer, main placements happen in the Final year i,e. 5th year. Companies that hire majorly are Tier-1 and Tier-2 law firms, like AZB, Khaitan&Co. Average package goes to about 15-16LPA. My plan is not fixed yet, but I aim to pursue SEBI or RBI law officer exam.
