Remarks

We get admission to IIMC after appearing for the entrance exam i.e. CAT. This exam is conducted in November every year. Based on its score, we appear for the campus interview. The cutoff of IIM C usually goes high approx. 99.7 percentile. CAT application form is available on the official website and we pay a fee of INR 2000. The application form is available in the month of august-September. I do not find any improvement in the admission process, I just want that academic diversity point should be removed from the overall selection criteria of IIM C.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course consists of all managerial subjects- Finance, marketing, consulting, operations, Prodman, and general management. This is the course for which a person should go if he has plans for a startup. The student: faculty ratio is 10:1. We have very experienced faculty members and a strong alumni network. We also have many visiting faculties who share their industry expertise. Our faculty members are highly qualified and all of them are very talented. The teaching method of the faculty is very good. The exams are not difficult to pass. Most of the exams are case based and if a student sincerely attends the lecture then he can pass the exam easily.

Fees and Financial Aid

We do not follow any fee hike policy. Fee hikes have taken place for several years, and recently the fee was hiked by 2 lakh for the course. Aditya Birla scholarship is given to 2 academic scholars in the first year based on his/her performance in the interview during admission. NBFA is provided to every student. In this 100% tuition fee is given to the students.

Campus Life

7 LF is the annual fest of IIMC. In this fest, we conduct various case comps, speaker sessions, and cultural nights. This fest is conducted in November every year. Books and journals are available in plenty in the library and on the portal of IIM C library. we have a very good collection of books and journals. All the facilities are provided to us from playground, gym, chores room and library. Our campus is very actively engaged in sports and extracurricular activities. We have more than 40 clubs and SIGs. All these are run by the students.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

Placement is a race here. Handfull of good companies with good roles will come but they take good chunk of students. So be prepare for that and don't worry about getting good companies, here many companies offers better packages than those good companies.

Placements are good sometimes but not exactly sure because some batches are not placed somes are placed or somes are not then they trying to get placement for own if i talk about the percentage of placement then i would say 60% not 100%,for 3rd semester students are eligible for placement & one terms is here that is 75% attendance is mandatory for getting placement, i have visited 3-4 companies & they offer 3.7-4 lpa package,my plan after getting the degree, firstly i looking for a company around 4-5lpa package then i started to develop my self

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course only because of our HOD, but after completing my course, he left the course. He has helped us with all the things like web development and seo skills. By doing it practically for every student, he offers a domain for every student. I had difficulty with Google Ads & meta ads because it was taught by another faculty. The exam times were different by 3 months.

Placement Experience:

Till now I am seeing in my own eyes that in previous year, there is a 270 student in marketing and now right now the 15 student left to place and rest of the team are already placed to a many companies like ENYF Flipkart in Bandan Bank ICICI bank in a mini sector in FMCG also and FMCT also, but and retail, but I told that the ratio of placement is too higher than other college and also giving the good package is. The main thing with the job rule should be maintain the package.

Last semester students become eligible for campus placements. Name of the companies visited - TCS, WIPRO, MICROSOFT, TATA, IBM , AMAZON etc. 51,00,000/yr highest package and average package 5,50,000 as per company and profiles offered. 97% students are getting placements. My plans start a business after getting the degree.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from the fifth term. 300+ companies visit the campus to recruit 500 students. The highest package is 70LPA and the Average package is 20LPA. 100% placements. after getting the degree students will join the recruited companies.

The eligibility for this course is having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 55% of marks and then the cut off for CAT exam varies from student to student. They calculate the composite scores for every student considering different factors like academic background, work experience, gender diversity, past academics, etc. I would recommend that the institute should have a fair shortlisting criteria which should be disclosed to everyone because I saw people topping the CAT exam still not getting calls from institute because of their strict criteria especially for general engineer male....Read More

Enrolling at IIM Kolkata was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I enrolled in an MBA at IIM Kolkata due to my strong interest in the subject.
