Jamia Millia Islamia - Land of Hope

Firstly I cleared IIT-JEE (Main) Examination in 2020 and applied for Jamia Millia Islamia counseling in April 2020. I filled out the counseling form on jmicoe.in. When JEE's main result was declared, Jamia Millia Islamia starts conducting counseling. In one of the merit lists declared by Jamia, my name came. And I reported physically with my original documents like category certificate, Intermediate, and High school original mark sheet, and affidavits.

I love electrical and electronics stuff. Jamia Millia Islamia has a Faculty of Engineering And Technology which provides 5 programs under B.Tech course. Computer Engineering, Electronics And communication engineering, Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering. Approx. 80-90 students are in each program. The total B.Tech seat in Jamia is about 350 but this number gets increased with the admission of NRIs. All professors are well qualified in their respective fields, they teach every point of the topic which feels hard. The end sem exam is happening every 4 months. And a sessional exam takes place in 40 days.

Jamia Millia Islamia has made it compulsory to complete at least one internship. Jamia Millia Islamia does not provide any internship on its own. Some companies visit campus and offer internships. This year Accenture offered some internships.

5th-semester students become eligible for campus placement but the majority get the placement in the 7th semester. This year Accenture, Samsung, HBIL, etc. companies visited and offered 30-40 jobs in the first round of placement. The highest package for Computer Engineering was 25 lac by Microsoft last year. This year the placement process is going on and the highest package is to be recorded. 50-60% of students get placed and the remaining students pursue higher education or start their businesses. I would like to take the placement after the degree.

The total fee for the 4 years of B.Tech is 64000 Indian Rupees. However many students get various scholarships like National Scholarship, Alumni Jamia Millia Islamia Scholarship, etc. Right now I have not acquired any job but the next year, I will take a placement test and will secure a job.

Jamia Millia Islamia celebrates its Annual Foundation day on 28 October of each year. It has many libraries, among them Zakir Husain Central Library is the biggest one. Almost all Books for the courses provided by Jamia are available in Zakir Husain Central Library. Some classroom has a joint wood bench and some have chair along with the hand desk on it. Many events take place in the name of Extra Curriculum Activities. Many societies and Clubs are there in Jamia. Hashes Coding Club helps students to learn to code.
