It's just awesome

My remarks about college is it's just awesome. Gather the courage of taking a tough decision of landing up here and you will enjoy the rest 4 years of your life.

I got into this college by JEE Advanced rank. I had secured 3678 rank in OBC category. I opted for it because it was the best option available to me being a central government affiliated college in lines with the IITs.

The course curriculum of our college is pretty good just as like the IITs. There are many research laboratories and you get opportunity of doing various projects under the professors as well. I have seen many of my seniors doing various projects in Petroleum and chemical field under the guidance of various professors.

Yes our college provides internship as well. I have not been through it so I have no such experience but as got to know from my seniors basically college provides internship in 3rd year in various companies and organization relating to Petroleum and chemical engineering.

The placement opportunities are quite praiseworthy. And the job opportunities in Petroleum and chemical is very widespread chemical in particular but Petroleum nowhere lags behind fetching you highest paying jobs among all branches of engineering. Various PSUs visit our college for recruitment including ONGC IOCL HPCL BPCL Reliance Adani OIL GAIL and many others.

There are basically 3 major fests of our college cultural , techfest and sports fest along with the various activities organized by various student Chapters including SPE IIChe AIChe Petrotech AAPG EAGE Kode Club and many others. Since all the government institutes have hiked their fees so was expected by RGIPT as well. The fees per annum here has been raised to 2.5 lacs from 1.5 lacs. Although there are waivers for students belonging to SC/ST category and various merit scholarships provided by the college as well.

Scholarships are provided to various students under various schemes like Chevron ONGC scholarships and many others. College also provides scholarship to meritorious students based on their performance in various semester exams. Loan facility is also provided.

The campus life here in RGIPT is damn awesome. There a re various extracurricular activities organized by student Chapters and students can also participate in various clubs including singing dancing dramatics coding. They can also opt for various sports under the guidance if various acknowledged coaches. There are many competitions debates treasure hunts and various other activities organized by various student Chapters. The ratio of girls is very low as in all IITs.

The hostel facilities that RGIPT provide is no doubt one of the best as compared to various IITs and various government institutions. The mess food is also awesome. There is a mess committee headed by seniors who keeps a check on products used and the quality control. There is no additional charges for fooding and lodging everything is included in the overall fees.

The alumni network if our college is really very widespread. I am myself in contact with various seniors working in various PSUs and various other reputed organizations. And of course they are really very helpful.

Earlier we had to appear for 2 midsems and one end semester exam but from this year I has changed to one midsem and one end semester exam. There are various surprise quizzes as well. During the first year the curriculum is bit hectic with various labs as well which gets smooth as you enter 2nd year.

Admission process is quite simple. We need to fill in the registration form and then wait for seat allocation round and of the name comes in the provisional list then submit the given amount and get provisional admission and then reach the center on the date given to complete overall admission procedure.

The faculty members of RGIPT are really very qualified ones. They are the gems of their fields. Everyone of them pursuing their PhD and MTech and other various degrees from various eminent colleges internationally and from reputed colleges in India. They are always there to assist , guide and help you whenever needed.
