Remarks
You can get admission at nit Raipur by Jose/cab counselling. Students who cleared Jee mains exam can fill out the josaa/cab counselling process. All the details related to the counselling process will be provided by NTA after the declaration of jee mains & advanced results. For general quota students, The cutoff for the Mining branch is around 90 percentile of jee mains which are approximately around 80,000 ranks for the home state. For another state, it may go up to the 94 percentile subject to seat vacancy.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good, provide all theoretical knowledge about the course & the faculties here are highly qualified & cooperative. We also have some training visits in our 3rd & 4th year which provide us with industrial/practical knowledge. I was interested in mining from the beginning so I choose this course. We have 6 subjects which were taught by 8 different faculties. The lab & practicals were done under the supervision of teachers in the ratio of 1 teacher over 20 students. So the student is to faculty ratio is very good. We've 8 semesters throughout the course each semester consist of mid-semester exam & end semester exams. The gap between these two is roughly 2 to 3 months.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities for lower-branch students are very less. Almost negligible. The 1 to 2 internships for the Lower branch are only open for girls, not for boys. You can get internships only by applying Off-campus.
Placement Experience
The placement is decent. From the final year (4th year) students are eligible for college placements. Companies like adobe, d shaw, Vedanta, Adani, etc visited our campus. In the year 2021-22 the total offer received was 738. In the mining branch, 62 offers were made to over 70 eligible students. Around 60% of students got placed in our college & in the mining branch, almost 75% of students got placed. I want to take college placements & work as an employee.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for a year is 1 lakh 50 thousand a year which has to be paid in 2 installments. There is various fee waiver for economically weaker students college provides 50% compensation to students having a family income of less than 8 lakh & 100% compensation to students having a family income of less than 1 lakh. There are various scholarship programs run by different organization all the related information is given by our college & provide necessary assistance.
Campus Life
The college life at nit Raipur is awesome. You have many opportunities to express your interests. There is a separate clubs & committees for different important co-curricular activities. We've different fests like eclectic the biggest cultural fest in central India. We've ragga a singing concert organized by college students. We've bavarian as Tech fest a science exhibition & a tech fest. Almost all books related to engineering are available here. Also, there are many varieties of newspapers & journals.
