They are helpful till your life.They will help to in peer activities.Like friends they are with you in competitions and help.But hostels is known for ragging. They say ,they don't do,but as this process is going on from years,and no body wants to protest, that's why they bear. Try to remain batch out,no help of such seniors required that molest juniors.

Total 8 semester and few labs.Subjects are not much typical.Labs are very good to learn.You will learn a lot in that period,It will be helpful for you. Try to grasp as much as you can, because it will help you in long run. Many languages labs are arranged to learn to program, it is need of today.
