I got into OIST, Bhopal through MPPET. I scored 381.1 out of 500 in that year and got computer science branch I was getting all the branches in this college and even was eligible to get seats in other premium colleges of Indore as well. I chose OIST just because of the fact that it had the best placement track record and the best TPO at that point of time.The campus was beautiful and was having good road connectivity and public transport also.

The curriculum is standard RGTU based. The faculty in first year was pretty hard working and was sincere and knowledgeable but from 2nd year once we enter our specialized department i.e. Computer Science we realized that the faculties do not have depth,no practical knowledge,no presentation skills,absolutely nothing. Moreover the labs were also in very poor condition,lab attendants too were very poor in technical knowledge so in 2nd year I gave up all hopes of learning from faculties of this college and was compelled to learn on my own or had to go from coaching.

No internship was available in my time.

In my pass out year there were a lot of companies which came for placement but I heard from 2011 onwards the entire TPO team shifted to some other college and the placement dropped in OIST bhopal.

All the cultural cum tech fests are very good. OIST always have been a very tough competitor in all the cultural,tech fests organized in other colleges as well.

There is a college fund known as Babuji's fund which sponsors poor students studies and to avail this benefit one has to meet the Chairperson of this college and they can only take this decision.

Since my college was famous because of excellent placement track record in my college many people were form other states as well like UP,Bihar and Delhi also. The mechanical and civil students have good infrastructure to develop their skills but there is absolutely no emphasis given to improve the vocab or presentation skills and lot of favoritism may happen if you have some students who have there family friends or relatives as professors in this college.

The hostels are poorly managed the mess food quality and variety is also not good. The canteen is also not hygeinic. Rates are normal.
