Entrance Preview
Well to be frank with you guys i wrote many exams. But i got only Vellore institute of technology and Kl University. I went through my father choice and my faculty members. Education is good and especially in winter you will like the atmosphere. In rainy season, by seeing campus you can feel like heaven(greenery, weather, rain water slowly falling from leaf)
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is good. Better than IIT's and NIT's. 1st year is same for all. you have to learn some basic subjects and one subject from all the other branches. which will help you to get idea about other branches. if your gpa is nice you can shift to other branches. From 2nd year you will get electives from other departments like bba,mba, cse, mechanical photography etc. Here in your core branch you can opt electives in such way that you can focus on one specialization. For example, if you select four elective in remaining 6 semester in field of communications you will get specialized in particular field in original degree.
Internships Opportunities
No, college wont provide any internship for you. you have to search for internship and you can go in first or second semester of you final year. I heard very few ( maybe in fingers) came for internship.
Placement Experience
Many companies do visit campus. But main recruiters are wipro, infosys, cts. Maximum you will get IT companies. If you are not cse don't expect any core jobs. Yes core jobs will come but only few( count in hands) and they will push in bpo jobs. Exam Structure
Yes exams are conducted very often. You have to write 3 or 5 tests for internal which contains 40 marks ( 75% written and 25% lab marks). external 60 marks (75% written and 25% lab marks).
Admission
Well mine is sports quota. you have wait too long. they will call you by your certificate weight-age and when you got your turn they will ask you few questions about your game. How much score you put on score board and some immediate questions. finally if your are selected you have opt for branch. After that there will be photo session for your id card. They will ask you to pay fee. If you are carrying with you pay it or you can pay it latter. that's the end of your counselling.
Faculty
Each and every faculty are good. they will help. but they will be strict and stick to the rules. Each departments has their own faculty. Maximum are doing Ph.d. they are doing research sponsored by DST. Coming from ECE department i know many professors are doing projects worth of crores In the field of signal processing, communication, digital image processing and Radar technology.
