Campus Review of Sri.C Achuthamenon Govt. College , Thrissur

This college is fully governmental and falls under Calicut University, thus I was enrolled through Calicut University Allotment. Apart from the enrollment process fee, there wasn't no other payment required. The course required a paper on Computer Application in 12th Grade. All the detail regarding admission will be given in the official Calicut University portal. There are reserved seats based on Cast such as Muslim, SC, Hindu, etc. The admission process is pretty simple. If you get enrolled you could see it in the portal or can contact the head of the department.

Curriculum include major Computer Science , Complimentary subjects such as Statistics and Maths , and common subjects such as English and preferred second languages ( Hindi , Malayalam, Sanskrit ). I chosed this course due to my passion in computer and the vast opportunities that awaits. The department includes a high end computer lab with experienced tutors. A class contains 33 students with approximately 10 boys and 23 girls . There are 4 teachers for tutoring the subject whom possess different style of effective teaching. A semester contains 2 internals, a lab, seminar, and projects. The seminar and projects helps us to get know the subject deeply .

This is a fully governmental college, thus the fee structures are so low. You could apply for scholarships and be eligible to study for 0 fees. There is a state scholarship called Egrantz which covers your whole fees for the year. You could renew it and study for 3 years without a penny. There are part-time jobs available surrounding the college too.

The campus is fully surrounded by trees and plants. There are several programs conducted by the college and college union such as Fresher's day, all kinds of festival days, reunions, farewell, literature days, all National celebrations, pride month, etc. The library consists of several books of all courses, e-learning, and novels. Every floor in the block consists of 2 main Male and female toilets which consist of several amenities. The college does encourage sports and consists of most sports such as Football, Cricket, Kabaddi, Badminton, Tug of War, etc. Almost every department has its Instagram page sharing their moments in college which is fully run by students. There are year groups as well
