Remarks
Eligibility of the course varies year by year. But above 90% in the 12th board is enough to get enrolled in this course. Application forms, fees for admission, and semester fees all are on the official website of Asutosh College. After getting the result of the 12th board one has to check this website regularly for admission dates. For reservation candidates, semester fees will be reduced. The admission process is online and it goes smoothly.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was not selected in jee main. So the next better option for me was to study physics. Besides this, I also knew after bsc I could go to IIT for MSC. And here I am today doing MSC in IIT The faculty was very good. All the professors were very friendly. They are well qualified, and some of them had done their Ph.D. from well-known institutes like Max plank in Germany. They teach very well and they also help students to crack competitive exams like IIT JAM, JEST, and TIFR. This college is under the University of Calcutta so according to the university, there is only one final exam, after 5 months of class. Besides, there is an internal assessment in the college prior to the final exam. The final exam is tough but can be cleared with proper preparation throughout out the semester.
Placement Experience
For some departments, there is a scope of placement. For our department, we were offered to seat in placements. TCS, WIPRO, ICICI, etc companies came and the average package was around 3 lakh per year. But most of the students don't seat for placement because they're willing to go for higher studies. After doing B.Sc one can crack IIT JAM JEST TIFR-like exams to opt for M.Sc. in IITs and in a reputed research organization. Similarly after BA, one can go for MA
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for this course are lower than for other courses. But if one wishes to study here from being in mess then the cost can be high because the mess rent is around 6k per month along with there is traveling cost.
Campus Life
The annual fest is known as UDAN, which is conducted in March-April. Some celebrities also come there. There are 2libraries as well as one departmental library. There is plenty of books in those libraries one can access all kind of books. Our classroom is equipped with a projector and sound system, as well as some departments, have ac classrooms also. Every department makes a team and participates in the sports events like football and cricket. There is also a common room in which there are table tennis board, carrom, one can enjoy these too.
