I had a very keen interest in biotechnology especially molecular biology and of course rDNA technology so I took this course. There are a number of pioneers in our department including our chairperson Dr Desh Depak Singh, Dr Kashmir Singh, Dr Jagdeep Kaur, Dr Neena Kaplash and also assistant professors and guest faculties who are masters in their fields. These all are PHd and many have also done Post Doc. Exams are held regularly and in accordance with the university academic calendar.

The course is comparatively way cheaper than the private university which charges way too much for the same course. There are many scholarships available to students depending on the eligibility of students. And moreover one can also apply for government-run scholarships available.

Life at the campus is amazing the cbcs system allows students of various departments to come together and study making a whole lot of friends in various departments and fests are a common occurrence on campus. PecFest, cyanide, bmsfest. The students can engage in various sports like archery, shooting, badminton basketball. You name a spot and it is available on the campus whether indoors or outdoor. The students also have many clubs like the literature club, geology club, and book club and also have a number of websites and youth media channels Pu pulse is one of them. I am also a part of pu pulse family as a sub-copy editor of a section.

The hostel accommodation is very cheap and affordable as compared to private accommodations near the uni. The meals are charged on daily basis 40 for boys 38 for girls and for special meals it's 46 and 44 respectively. The seats are given to the department and the department has to decide how many seats have to be allotted each year. There are 11 girls and 8 boys hostel present on the campus. If you are unlucky enough not getting a hostel one can easily find PG in sector 15 and Dhanas which are very close to the campus
