Remarks

College management can get better. It is not bad but good isn't enough. Libraries need to get more books so as to satisfy all students. Workshops should be held in the college. Practical making of applications should be added as a course.

Entrance Preview

I took EAMCET exam and got 2457 rank (108 marks). The reason for choosing Osmania University are 1) It's a University not affiliated college. 2) Teaching staff and Placements are very good. 3) Infrastructure and Labs are well maintained. I can go on with this, but the above are the top qualities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

At my time, the courses were above average. Since I'm from CSE stream they've covered quite a number of programming languages. But one good thing they can do is being one course which teaches making practical applications rather just coding for logic. And we suggested this to our principal and they are on the go.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Osmania University provides internships. Well known companies comes and hire interns and provides stipend of 15-30k a month. The internship will be for 4 - 6 months and if the intern performs well then they'll offer you job.

Placement Experience

3.5

The Placements and job opportunities were excellent until 2016 but this year 2017, at my time, the companies with very high packages didn't turned up. But overall job opportunities are good. If you don't have backlog you'll definitely be placed and average packages is 5 LPA. Company--------package(LPA) Infosys ----------------- 3.5 Accenture ------------ 3.2 Wipro ------------------- 5 NCR --------------------- 5.5 CA technologies--- 6 Zoho corporation-- 6.58 Ion trading------------ 12 Shoretel ---------------- 8 Net cracker ----------- 5.5 And many more....

College Events

4

Every year the fest is organised, executed and managed so well by the students. We organised coding contests and distribute prizes to the winners. This year we had set an event called 'take a selfie' with Porsche Carrera 911 in real. We had a Harley ride around the University. The participants comes all around the city in huge numbers. We also provide food.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Getting a seat in Osmania University is difficult task, only students with wonderful marks gets the seat. As this is government college, the fee structure is very feasible. It's 10k per semester only if you get the seat based on EAMCET rank. And you have to pay semester exams fee as the exams come.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes me and many of my friends have availed scholarship. Sometimes some company or organisation comes and provide scholarship if you meet their conditions and passed their interview.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is very good here. Gender ratio depends on the department you are in. Like CSE department have more number of girls and MECHANICAL department have more number of boys and so. Labs, classes and teachings are quite good. As the University has varied persons working, you will feel some religious and gender inequality. Overall the culture is good.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are not so good but not so bad as well. The price is little high according to me. The food provided their is above average. The rooms are shared ones and not single. You get WiFi in the hostel. The place is very open. The power cut is not very often. You need to follow rules in the hostel for your safety.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network and the seniors here are very helpful not only in the University but also after you start your job. In the last year you'll be added in the alumni and will get your official email Id. Our seniors helped us how to prepare for Placements and they had organised mock interviews as well to get practical experience. At the end of student's interviews they made comments and advised to do and not to do things.

Exam Structure

The exams and Labs are normal. You won't be already centers to write exams. They are taken in the main building itself but the students are seated among many classes. Labs are taken in our department by dividing students in the divisions and allocating the time intervals.

Admission

After getting EAMCET result, I waited for counseling dates and on that date, I took all the required certificates to the allowed centre for counseling for verification. At the center you need to pay some fee and follow few procedure before you get your documents verified, which they'll instruct their. After verification, they'll provide you with a card and some notes which is used to select your desired colleges online at home. You need to select more than one college so as if you missed the desired one, you'll be allowed the next one in your list. Then I was allotted the first college on my list i.e. Osmania University. After that i took the originals and fee to be paid to the college allotted and submitted at the main office. Then I got the date to join the college.

Faculty

4

The faculty of Osmania University is well qualified and experienced. They teach only the subjects they are interested in. This makes them teach the students better. But the first year faculty used to teach in Telugu, which is negative for non- Telugu students, but they have good knowledge.
