Remarks
The course I availed is Information Technology and is not much different than Computer Science. To get in the college you simply have to appear in the JEE Mains entrance exam and your admission is confirmed on the basis of merit. Further, merit relatively remains high for students outside Delhi simply because of the lack of hostels and accommodations. IPU conducts its own counseling. The forms would be made available at the official website of IP university i.e. ipu.ac.in. There are not many specific reservations except if you are a resident of Delhi, you will have 85% of the reservation criteria. As I said earlier this is due to the lack of accommodation facilities for outside Delhi students. The admission process is quite well, the only improvement I expect to be quicker because University always makes delays.
Course Curriculum Overview
I intended either for Computer Science or Information Technology. And luckily I got my name on the merit list of Information Technology besides being an outside Delhi student. I think the faculty-student ratio is quite well managed. Every student is provided with a mentor that has nearly 20 students under his guidance. It should be 1:20. Almost all the faculty members are either Ph.D. or at least done masters in their respective subjects. Every teacher is equally supportive. I would rate it 8/10 on the basis of the teaching method. There occur two semesters each year. Each semester holds a midsem and an endsem exam. Besides these, there also occur routine tests.
Fees and Financial Aid
The latest fees of our college are nearly 1.4 lakhs per year. It got hiked as the last year, it was nearly 1.25 lakhs per year. There is a scholarship scheme for students with weak financial backgrounds, the scheme is under Delhi Govt. and provides 100%, 50%, or 25% aid to the student corresponding to his financial status. Placement cell works efficiently, yet you have to work quite hard and impressively to get a nice job with a nice stipend. Companies like Amazon are beginning to appear for campus placement in the last few years.
Campus Life
Fests occur mostly during December and New Year Time, the fests are quite impressive, to be honest. Every book that has a correspondence to subjects is easily available in the library. However, journals and novels are not something you will find that often. The classrooms are good, spacious, and with AC. There are sports societies and other societies too that will keep your day busy. However, competitions are not that frequent. The society named GDSC-Google Development Students Club is a student-based society run majorly by students.
