A Student's guide through Chitkara.

Course eligibility was 75%+ in Non-Med but it varies from course to course. Application form was easy to fill and submit, it was available on the website itself. You could submit the application fees online using various methods or offline. Application date varied from course to course. The admission process is already very good and satisfactory.

I chose my course because this industry is in particular, booming and is very successful. Enough faculty members are there, and students are satisfied with their teaching methods as well. The use of PPTs and Labs help the students learn better. Course Handouts are also provided which brief on everything about a subject and resources are also available. Exams are timely, and although some times less days to prepare are given, the exams are not very hard to pass.

Companies that visit for internships are Amazon, Infosys, JP Morgan and many others. Projects related to academics have a high weightage for the internship process as well as an interview sometimes. Roles offered for internships depend on the organization itself, but usually the roles generally are in management or human resources.

After semester 6, students become eligible for campus placements. There are various companies that visit the campus and make numerous offers. For example, companies like - Apple, ARM, Nvidia, Google, Infosys, VMware, Wipro etc. The highest package went up to, 35 Lakh and the average package is around, 8 Lakh. There are 500+ recruiters therefore the percentage of students getting offers and placed is 98% in 2019 and in 2021 it was 85%. My plan after getting my degree is to pursue higher education abroad.

The fees is appropriate for a course like this. There has been a small fees hike of 5,000 from 2021 to 2022. Study costs are not much as you only need a laptop and an internet connection. For now I haven't gotten any Job but Chitkara has an incubation centre for startup ideas and provides various online jobs as well as internships that you can apply for.

Chitkara conducts a lot of fests, from SneakerFest to Concerts to Treasure Hunts etc. Its filled with events. Chitkara has many libraries but the biggest one is near the Turing Block and it has almost all the books you could ever need for Computer Science, as well as literature too. Classrooms are kept clean and tidy for the students and the faculty and are cleaned regularly after class hours everyday. There is a proper lost and found system as well. As mentioned above Chitkara holds various events, which are not limited just to enjoyment, but also sports. Chitkara has various sports groups as well as proper sports equipment and the required infrastructure. Many of the sports teams go for competitions in other colleges as well. Chitkara has many clubs, not just sports but also clubs like NoComply which is focused on Skating or DebSoc for parliamentary debates, these are run by students.
