MSIT review by 2nd year student (batch 2021-25)

I gave JEE 2021 and my rank was 107518, then I applied for IPU counselling which gave me admission on basis of marks achieved in JEE. So, in the last rounds of counselling, I got admission to Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology in the IT branch. I have a keen interest in information and computer science-related branches so I chose the IT branch at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology(MSIT). The college is AICTE-approved and NBA-accredited. Currently, I am in 2nd year of college. The faculty is well qualified and the teaching methods are also good. The course curriculum is also well constructed keeping in mind the course objectives. The student-to-faculty ratio in my branch is nearly 8:1. There is one mid-semester exam and an end-term examination. The mid-semester can be passed on basis of class notes while the end-semester can be passed with the help of guides such as AAKASH, which contains all the previous year's papers of IPU. So, it's not that tough to pass depending on how much attention one pays in class and the attendance criteria too which from this year is 75% mandatory.

A total of 105 internship offers were given in the 2022 season out of which 6 students got offers from MICROSOFT with a stipend of 1.25 lac, 2 students got offers from GOOGLE with a stipend of 1.2 lac and 3 students got an offer from ADOBE with a stipend of 1 lac. Rest more than 40 students got offers with stipend 50000 pm.

According to the revised curriculum, Students get eligible for placements and internships from the 5th and 6th semesters. There was a total of 556 offers in the placement season of 2022 with AMAZON(55 lac), MICROSOFT(50 lac), ADOBE (43.1 LAC), and INFOSYS being the top recruiters for various roles such as PP, SES, and SE. There were off-campus international placements too including those of GOOGLE(1.7 crores) and AMAZON DUBLIN(1.2 crores). MSIT records 100% placement for this season.

The fee is around 1.3 lac p.a for B.Tech courses. At the time of placements and internships, there's some extra fee for the placement activities. There are various scholarship schemes of the University such as- EWS SCHEME, Merit Cum means linked financial assistance scheme, Post matric scholarship of SC/ST/OBC, Pragati Scholarship Scheme for girl students, and Saksham scholarship scheme for specially-abled students.

The campus life in this college is very happening. There are various societies such as- PRAKRITI- the environmental and humanitarian society. It is the most active society on campus. It also hosts the annual cultural fest of MSIT i.e ENVA. IEEE- IEEE mist is the student chapter of IEEE. It is also a very active society in the Delhi region of IEEE. It has various affinity groups such as IEEE WIE (women in engineering), IEEE RAS (robotics and automation society), and IEEE CS (computer science). I am a part of the hardware team under the PROJECT committee of the IEEE TARK- it is the debating, writing, and poetic society. CEREBRATE- a debating society, is very active and participates in various intercollege events. ASTITVA and UNITY STREETS- these are the dance societies. Aarambh and SIFAR- the dramatics society. E-cell- the entrepreneurship society, has also been very active throughout the years and holds various pitching events in collaboration with HULT PRIZE MSIT.
