Entrance Preview
I gave XAT exam and I scored 94% in that Exam. I opted for Great Lakes because it is one of the renowned college in India and its one year MBA program is well reputed in industry. It also provides 100% placement and good packages as well.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Marketing as major, finance as my first minor and Analytics as my second minor. Institute has excellent faculty and research opportunities are tremendous. You can research in any field you are interested in and will get a great support and guidance from the faculty members as well.
Internships Opportunities
For one year MBA program you don't need internship as all the selected candidates have an experience of min 2 years. But for 2 year MBA program internships are provided in reputed companies with an average stipend of Rs 40K to 50K.
Placement Experience
All major companies in various streams come to our college including Mckinsey, Delloite etc IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, HCL, Infosys etc E commerce like Amazon, Banks like HSBC, Standard Charter, ICICI. 100% placement. All 400 students got placed. Package offered : 12.5 LPA (Average) Amazon offered: 35 LPA( highest in India) Tolaram group: offered 1 Lakh Dollars (overseas)
College Events
There are many events which are conducted throughout the year.It includes are food festival, technical festival, and annual cultural festival.All these events are grand and all the major B schools had participated in the various events. Apart from this, there will many other seminars, guest lectures, TEDX etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
Current fee for One Year MBA is around 18L, but you will easily get a loan from the banks. Plus you complete your MBA one year before your friends and start earning. So, its actually not that expensive. Because you will get a package around 12LPA and in one year you can repay some amount of your loan. In other colleges you have to give interest for 2 years for your loan.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I dont have proper knowledge about it. But there are many scholarships which are offered by the college. Plus you get a chance to go to France where you can learn advanced concepts of finance with one of the renowned college in the world. For that you have to some extra amount.
Campus Life
There are around 25% females and students from all corners of India will form your peer group. You will find people of different mindsets, different cultures and different religions. Yet all come from similar socio economic background so don't feel alone.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are individual as well as sharing basis. You will get good amenities including AC in your room. Food is excellent and you will get four times of meals which are unlimited and the menu is decided according to the students. All hostel fees and food charges are included in the Fee structure.
Alumni/Alumna
All my seniors have helped me out in the time of need. We also organize the annual alumni meet where you get chance to interact with your seniors who are at senior most positions in major corp orates.
Exam Structure
There are seven terms in one year MBA. Each term has midterm exam and final exam at the end.Apart from this, there will be surprise quizes, presentations, group projects etc through out the term.First three terms are quite hectic, but it gets better after you are placed.
Admission
First you have to clear the cutoff of any of the following entrance exam: CAT, XAT, and GMAT. After clearing the required cutoff you will called for an interview. There they will ask you for a Written test and than interview. After qualifying the interview you will get a call.
Faculty
Great Lakes has extremely qualified faculties with years of teaching experience in their respective fields. Our Dean Professor Bala V Balachandran has immense knowledge, network and experience in the areas of Finance, Marketing and operations. He is also the Dean of Kellog's university, US.
