Remarks

The days spent in College were very fruitful and has made me the person I am today. Really thankful for such a lifetime experience with so many wonderful people and their fun experiences.

Entrance Preview

After completing my 12th from school in Commerce, I applied for BMS in 4 colleges in South Mumbai and my name came in the list of KC, based on my 80% scored in 12th standard. There was no entrance exam, but selection based on your last % scored.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was fairly good, and covered all the different aspect of Management studies which are now helping me work and understand he dynamics of the ever changing corporate world. This covered the subjects as business Law, accounting, corporate communication, economics, mathematics etc.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, during the summer breaks after our semesters, there were few Internships provided, however students in Mumbai used to apply and get into better organization from their own references. Stipend used to generally range from 5,000-10,000 pm. Experience from the interns was overall productive and enriching.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are very good, compared to other colleges. Reputed companies com to hire studied and the package given was ranging from 2.5 lacs -3 lacs. Students apply in good no and have shared good experience after working with them. Industries mostly included banking and financial services sector.

College Events

3

Kiran is the festival celebrated in KC college. It is pretty fun as a lot of celebrities also come to attend he function by being the judes of various shows. Students from various other colleges also join so as to enjoy the fun activities. Their are cultural events, dance shows and acts performed, making sure that each of the student participates and grow personally.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was apparently less as compared to the other technical courses- around Rs. 20,000 per year. The is amount is feasible, considering that the colleges timing were from 7-11 am and had lesser space for various other activities which should have been included in a university college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since the course fees were well withing the affordability o a middle class family in south mumbai, there wasn't any scholarship/loan facility that I am aware about. However, few of my colleges mates did mention of getting a relaxation of upto 10-15 K for their fees, as they belonged to SC/ST.

Campus Life

3

The gender ration seemed fairly good, in fact I would say 70% of the students in my class were female only. I believe its for the fact that men generally go for more technical courses (engineering) than pursuing these management courses after school. In terms of diversity, since my college is based in South Mumbai, majority of the crowd is of Gujrai's and Marwadi's who are Jain. But a very healthy blend of each state and other religion is also to be seen. In terms of extracurricular activity, the college used to keep on having some or the other function/event going on round the year. Participants form different colleges used to come and participate. It was fund for us as well, to get to see so many colors of our college.

Hostel Facilities

4

There were no hostel facility provided as most of the students were living in South Mumbai. The food which was served inside the canteen was fairly good, clean and hygienic. The rates were also pretty affordable for the college students to indulge after the long lectures.

Alumni/Alumna

I am not really in touch with a lot of people from the college due to my demanding job in a startup, which I credit my college for making me this efficient to be able to work in a very good company. However, there are groups of the senor students and alumni who keep functions of meeting together a year and celebrating.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is pretty cool and relaxed, similar to our schooling days. There were 6 semester and exams used to last for a month or so. Exams also included the viva and presentations given in the class, so that a candidate is evaluated overall.

Admission

After my 12th result, I went to 4 colleges in south Mumbai and filled their admission forms. My name came in the cutoff list of KC Colleges. The admission process is fairly simple, once your name has come in the merit list, as you then only need to submit our previous schooling documents.

Faculty

4

The faculty of he college was pretty awesome, which included 70% of the staff coming in as the guest lecturer- who were the actual professional working and coming to give lectures. They shared with us their real life experience in business and made the bookish knowledge much more fun to understand.

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
